I have a roommate for more than a year..... I've known this person for since 1997. We were doing great until recent August... He changed all of suddenly...

But today.... I came home... I was so disappointed and wished he would tell me those stuff... but NOOO! I came home saw the sink is pile of dishes in both sink..... THINK... I'm gonna wash it all if i wasn't home for 2 weeks? HELL NO.... 2nd.... My bedroom door is closed. I told him to leave it open to let the cat sleep in my room whenever she wants. *SIGHS* 3rd... I got two bills that is late!!!!! He didn't tell me I have bills at all?! One bill is pretty late... which is CAR INSURANCE.... I paid it before i left but the PROBLEM is i forgot the stamp thats why it returned to me, but my roomie could have be so kind to get a stamp and put in mail for me -- SEPT 27th.. its LATE. I never paid late for my car insurance.....

I think hes being COLD or two faced with me since i came back here in August. :( What the HECK is wrong with him?! What did I do?! I wish we re good friends like we used to be.. but it's not like that anymore. :(

My roomie <---- :rl:

I wanna MOVE OUT............... *SIGHS* but i can't yet. :(

Aw I'm so sorry to hear about your roommates OldNavyGirl , I'm curious and wanted to know did you talk to your roommate about taking care of your bills before you left town?...

I know friends should help one other out, but just curious question :aw:

I agree on the part about washing dishes, I mean your roommate live there too and she/he should clean after themselves...

yes i did.... I told him i would pay back when i'm back in town.... but car insurance is IMPORTANT.... my goodness.. he would have put a stamp on it and put in mailbox for me cuz it returned to me - had no stamp. i must have forgotten abt the stamp on the enevople... *SIGHS* i'm not washing his dishes at all cuz i wasn't here for 2 weeks.

I know exactly what you're talking about. I live with 5 roommates, and share a bathroom with the 2 most irresponsible people in the world. I think there is no less than 4 different species of molds and fungi, 35 different infestations of some sort, and I'm pretty sure there is a dead fish in our bathroom somewhere. No ones takes responsibility. I've ended up cleaing the toilet so many times when I shouldn't have. I try to leave it to let them do something about it, but each time, I end up fixing it.

hang in there!

Glad i don't have any roommates to handle right now.. back in my college days I had to deal with 3 other roomies.. one is such a very irresponsible.. and frankly he and i share same room. everyday he leave his leftover food in the bedroom which always ticks me off.. and myself i finish work 2 am going to bed.. always accident step on his games, CD, etc.. and he blame me i broke his case.. well its his fault for not cleaning it up.. he just left them on floor.

:hugs: u'll be fine :D

late bills, forgot stamp, dirty dishes, and cat in bedroom...

I think you are being too hard on your roommate...

That is normal when roommate just wanna lay back
while you're gone for 2 weeks...
He acted like a teenager who glad parents are
gone for long time and he can have a little less discipline
and freedom around the house.

You act like his parent.

Remind me about ex-bf in cailfornia...
Geee... I was refused clean up his own things pretty flithy and dishes clutters all over.. I'm not maid for him.. Hell out of here.. I decide left there and tired of it done.. I'm glad, I ain't going back there again!
Sound alike your roomie must be coming from CA ?

Tiffy, Chill out! Do you ever feel like screaming this at your roomie?

Your mail has been returned because you forgot to put a stamp on it before you mail it. It is not his fault but you can stop by insurance co. and tell them about your issue (show your mail with postmark on it) and they will fix it for you.

There is nothing wrong if your door closes or opens. Your cat can always find a place to sleep.

I do not see any reason why you should move out of there. It is very minor problems.

Bullymom, who is your ex byf from california, eh? Not that I recall.

no I'm not acting like his parent.. we compromise on things. He knows me and I know him. You have no ideas abt my roommate. thanks though

bullymom... no hes not from CA

Eterniity.... u have different opinion.. but thats fine.

I agree with OldNavyGirl; it is just basic decency, respect for one's roomate and PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY!!

Call the FIRE DEPARTMENT, the POLICE DEPARTMENT, the PARAMEDICS, the OLD NAVY DEPARTMENT STORE, the HOUSE CLEANING MAIDS, the ANIMAL CONTROL DEPARTMENT, the POSTAL SERVICE, the INSURANCE COMPANY and finally the BOUNCERS aka ROOMIES BOOTERS!!

Although, I can understand what frustrations you may have with your roommate, as for the dishes, *ahems*...his duty to clean that mess up--if out of dishes, in the meantime, just get some paperplates, etc., until your roommate cleans it up, as for the mail, yes, it would have been a nice gesture on your roommate's part for putting a stamp on it, but all in all, it's really not his duty or obigation to do so, of course, we'd all like to have others be able to have some compassion and understanding by doing something for us during our own oversights, etc., then surely the world would indeed be a much nicer place, but that's not the case--in the meantime, overlook this and move on--perhaps to another place if you feel the need and when you're able to may do some 'good' for you. ;)

you'll regret it if you get another roommate...

I learn my lesson, I had roommates who were much nicer
and all.... but I didn't like cleaning the toliet every 2 weeks.

So I moved in with new roommates, they are the worst
roommates ever, I regret moving, I wish to have back the roommates
who are nicer and cleaning the toliet every 2 weeks isn't so bad at all.

So just stay with that roommate, and talk to him... compromise
again... work it out....
