It depends on the ride... If it's a "tame but wild" one like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Disney parks, then I'll keep it on. Space Mountain, I tend to take it off cuz I can't see the dangers in the dark... but I did kept it on for Rock n Roller coaster (the Aerosmith one at MGM Studios, Fla) becuz i awnted to hear the music with it. But as a precaution, i put up my hood (wore a hooded sweatshirt) and pulled on the strings... Of course I look hideous with my hood framing my head with the strings pulled taut, but then, that ride is DARK and no one but your conscience will see yourself. (it worked, but HURT when i banged heads with the head protective rest thingy that keeps u from getting whiplash. If i had done it again, I would have taken it off - the pain and constant worrying about it was no competion to the actual hearing of music (was so loud that it sounded like static). So take it off for the wilder ones, but the baby coasters, its okay. It depends on which type - BTE are best taken off, but if its a bodyworn one like a SPrint, then I leave it on (the cord acts like a tether cord). Just my two cents.
