Rumor is that Rush wants to buy Rams football team and the players are opposing the bid:

"In an e-mail to the union's executive committee on Saturday specifically addressing Limbaugh's bid, Smith said, "I've spoken to the Commissioner [Roger Goodell] and I understand that this ownership consideration is in the early stages. But sport in America is at its best when it unifies, gives all of us reason to cheer, and when it transcends. Our sport does exactly that when it overcomes division and rejects discrimination and hatred."

Dang! That's a powerful statement. Good for the ethical stance they have taken!

More like over-reacting according to Stephen A. Smith.

This country doesn't need a civil war.

<---against the idea of Rush Limpballs buying the Rams.

I'd hate the idea of the St Louis Rams being changed to St Louis Limpballs :P

I think think this is much ado about nothing. It would really surprise me if Limbaugh has enough money to buy the team all by himself. What is more realistic is that he's buying a SHARE of the team with several other owners also getting a peice.

I'm sorry, but so what? Nothing to get excited about.

Maybe the team's name will get changed to Rush Dogs.

Bad joke.

$$ talks...but anyhow, what does politics have to do with football? (Just asking). Some peope detest him, some love him.

What about Michael Vick? Some wanted him, most didn't. But he got another chance.

Exactly. I don't think this has anything to with politics at all, except that Rush is a Right-wing commentator. This thread really should be moved to the sport's section. As for him buying into the team, that's not really anything to get upset about. Any decisions he wants to make for the team will have to be agreed upon by the other shareholders in the team. It's NOT like he will have total control of the team. He won't.

He has $400 million dollar radio contract that was renewed a few years ago good for several years. Believe me, he has the money. He just doesn't advertise it.

He has the money, but the Rams are saying, "Your money is no good here. We don't want to be participants in your unethical behavior and spreading of hate." Looks like money can't buy everything.:giggle:

Then would a liberal buy a NFL team? Liberals hated sports since they promoted competition (anti-capitalism), violence (liberals are peace loving and they won't fight because of their non-violence theory).

Therefore, those who write/claimed/expressed Rush is a racist then are racists themselves. vice versa.

My, but you are painting liberals with a wide brush. I know many, many liberals that enjoy sports moreso than many conservatives.

I can't see where you managed to arrive at that conclusion, but the fact of the matter is, Rush is a racist, and has demonstrated so publicly any number of times.

You're probably right, but I still don't see him buying the team and being sole owner. It is more likely that he wants to buy a share of the team. If that is the case, he'll have other people to answer to. It still is nothing more than hype in my opinion. Besides all that if this happens to go through, it will undoubtedly tick off a lot of people.

I personally don't give a flying flip, but a lot of people do.

Rush has been dropped from the list of investors.
The Rams have lost their last 15 games, and I am not surprised a Republican once again picked a losing team, lol.

That was a good one! You are quick tonight, Beowulf!

well the Republicans candidates for governors in NJ and VA and picking up the leads. Deeds is distancing from Obama.

Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are racists themselves too (why are those two the Reverend when they didn't have any dinity degree). see their historical quotes at NewsBusters.org | Exposing Liberal Media Bias
