Which is kind of radar detector for car that is more associate to deaf people?

I cannot heard from sounds on radar detector but I need flash or show in bars to how is warning.

Best answer, drive at the speed limit. The reason why US is using up so much gas is because people go too fast on highways, also too many stop and gos in cities.

I have NEVER used a radar detector before, guess what? I never got a speeding ticket. I got pulled over a few times but they never gave me a ticket, call me lucky. I guess.

A lot of standard radar detectors have display that anyone can use. It's not just a "deaf friendly" radar detector that we could look for.

Oh, I got it.

I found Valentine One, that looks like nearly to be deaf friendly device.

Well, that's common to say like that but I never got speeding ticket or other ticket.

My uncle is using it for his car, that is how impressed about his speeding and haven't got speeding ticket for more than 10 years, also his radar detector is around 10 years old with lacking of beep on display.

That's interesting!

I rather to stick with the speed limit. I got a first warning a few years ago. I speed at 55 mph on 40 mph speed limited in my town. The 55 speed seems slow to me. Oh well.

Off subject, did you know that when you buy a new car or truck, you can request a light device for a warning light from a police or ambulance sirens? I don't remember where I got that information. I am pretty sure that it is from ADA. I haven't buy a new car yet.

Another subject, did you know that you could design your rims to make the police's radar confused with mixed with slow and high speed at the same time? My drawing is not quite perfect. The fins should look like a thin metal "flag" out of the rim in order to rip the radar's waves. I learned that in a science class. I haven't make one because I am not expert in welding metals. Don't mention this one from me.

Well, I heard of a case down in Florida where the trees were clocked going 85 mph. Er...interesting...of course they had to throw out all the speeding cases.

Radar detectors don't always work.

Some cops turn their radars off until the car comes within range, then they turn it on. I got pulled over for that once. My radar detector was silent, then it went from silent to full alert instantly. Turned out that the cop had his radar gun turned off, then turned it on just as I was passing by. Damn!

Wrong, Not all cops always use radar. They use LASER GUN!

Then your radar detectors is not work for laser. I have radar/laser detectors.

Remember most cops use laser gun on highway and some cops use radar for city.

Good news. Laser/Radar guns are not work during rain, fogs, and snow. Heheh

Yeah, radar detectors don't work against lasers... and vice versa.

I've been pulled over by a cop using laser once. When I pulled over, he asked me why I was pulled over. I told him that I didn't know (playing dumb). He then pointed at a hill behind me a mile away on the highway... "I clocked you there speeding." Eep!

Depent what type of detectors you use.

My detector got warned (Pro LASER flash one time) to me and I don't see any cops on highway but I drove slow till 1 mile later and I see cop.

Other time.. My detector got warned but I don't see cop till I take over the hill then I see cop there.

It's true.

When I drove to Texas a couple weeks ago, I saw a cop far away. When I came closer, I saw him using laser.

I've never used a laser detector though. :(

Now, I guess it's worthless to own one.

Also, you can continue to discuss about it and I would happy to reply on anytime.

I quit using radar detector, had too many speeding tickets and cop stopped me at countless times. After stopping using it, I rarely get cop stop me.

These radar detectors is really useless because now more and more cops are using trigger, laser, and vascar which is why radar detectors gone undetected until too late. PLUS what I found out is that the more you speeding, your spending more $ on gas!

Vascar is tough to challenge in the court, and I did indeed won case against sheriff. Most of my friends thought I won't be able to beat that in the court. The reason judge threw out the case is that this Vascar unit have no proof of inspection within a year! woooo, I got away!

I experimented with speed. I drove at the speed limit or 5 mph above the limit plenty of times. I draft behind semi trucks if possible, due to less air resistance. Guess what? I got better gas mileage and more longer distance. I get average of 350-360 miles on a tank of gas, that translate to about 33 miles per gallon. If I speed going 70-75 mph and jackrabbit starts, I get maybe 290-310 miles or 27-28 miles per gallon. This is for mixture of city and highway driving environment. I haven't experimented continuing at 60 mph from full to empty on a long trip yet. I always have gone 70-75 mph most of the time on long trips.

The kind of car I used is a 2000 Honda Civic EX with automatic transmission.

Depent how much RPM you push. I keep low my rpm so I made 75-80mph in everyday and I made around 310-340miles on full-time AWD. One time, I take long trip and I made 350miles at 80mph with A/C ON and close windows for 14 gallons of gas. Engine is over 120k mileages now. I don't see any different so much on A/C and off on highway for MPG.

Rules...Close windows and use A/C for highway, open Windows and don't use A/C for city for save gas if you wish.

Hmmm, I thought hot, dry Arizona was the only place where trees ran that fast, chasing after dogs? :P
