I have a question about the 1925/1929 movie "Phantom of the Opera" that starred Lon Chaney.
If you have seen this version of the movie, you may remember the "Messenger of the Shadows" that Ledoux and Raoul has ran into while looking for Christine, who was with the Phantom. The "Messenger of the Shadows" was an older looking guy who walked in the dark towards the camera and had a light toward his face, then he passed the two guys who were leaning against the wall.
Ok, why was Ledoux and Raoul had a terrified look on their faces staring at the "Messenger of the Shadows" as he passed? They were behind him as they stared, like they saw something. Anyone know what they were looking at? It didn't show a reason why...they just pointed and had this scared look on their faces.
Thanks to anyone who can answer this question.
I was really puzzled by this scene in the movie.
