You are correct in what you are saying. However, it only becomes a disorder when it is maladaptive. Until that time, it is considered to be a personality style.

Same reason conservatives were joking about liberals. Although, I only saw one post that could be considered jesting. The rest were outright slams. Guess a few people need to get a sense of humor.:cool2:
 
Lighthouse, we have the conservative conspiracy people where I live. I suppose that somewhere there are Scientologists that believe in Xenu, Hare Krisnas and other assorted interesting people. The US is a free country where you can believe whatever you want as long as you aren't harming anyone else.
 
yes, my brother believe in aliens... But I don't judge his mental status because he isn't harming anyone and that it is just a belief he have. I personally think it will change too.
 
People love to believe in aliens. When I have insomnia, I watch late night tv and sometimes they have UFO/alien show on. I watch them for fun. I wouldn't worry about that unless he starts building space ships or alien probes. :wave:

Ha ha. I used to sport an aliens jammed in a VW badge on my blue jean vest. I always found alien shows to fun to watch. :giggle:

Alien was scary for me when I watched it the first time. :shock: I lasted until that alien came out of the guy's chest..
 
Yea, and whenever I'm in the woods, I wonder if an alien would land there. :shock:

And that was the first scary scene of the movie... Unless you count the face-hugger scene.

Classic movie though. :)

But yes, I love sci-fi shows as well. :lol:

I only start to worry if he is losing his job over it and not taking care of himself. But then again, some famous scientists done the same thing. (think absent-minded professors)

maybe I should put it this way, I will only start to worry if the things he is doing is going to harm other people and he is breaking the laws.
 
Very true.....I think people loose thier track along the way as we age.....in our youth we are somewhat programmed as a group member via school, home, new world....as we age we come into our own in the world and facing life's stresses our individual weaknesses start to show. Lot of people are affected in lesser ways....many people around you in one way or another.
I call them mental debilitations. Debilitating issues. Very common.

I remember a careful conversation with a very smart pastor in which I led him into stating that yes God is an alien.

I better get back to looking out the window... it is when you least expect them that them come... that's how they got Joe
