I have been reading more about PSP lately, and more people are pointing out that Sony has been beating around the bush on the battery life for PSP.

This is an example, and I'm just letting you know just in case you are interested in PSP. If I were you, I'll wait till the official word on what the battery life is.

This may end up having the same fate as Sega's Game Gear and Nomad which had the same problem... battery life.

By the way, Sony just screwed their Playstation 2 customers and developers big time. The new PS2 model won't work with the hard drive. I can see SquareSoft being really furious with what just happened. They spent a fortune on the Final Fantasy XI game which used the hard drive. The 70000 Series (PS2 - Slimmer Model) replaced the original PS2 model designs meaning you can't get a new PS2 that is the same model as the original, just the slim version. People won't be able to play Final Fantasy XI since it requires a hard drive on the new PS2.

Such a pity.

well I'm not really interested in the FF series or the hard drive, and I only pefer to have a console that is about the size of a DVD case, and would have more space around my stuff in my room, you know?

It's still cool that it would play DVDs and CDs as the orginal PS2...so if it won't install the HDD along with FF...then who cares? they should just use the orginal PS2 since they are hardcore FF fans and I'm not really much of an RPG freak anyway...

You're missing the point. Sony screwed the developers who invested millions in the hard drive. A bad, bad move, period. Anybody in the business world would tell you that it's a potential fatal decision because Sony already has built a large Playstation audience.

This is exactly why I never bought Playstation 2 in the first place. It's because of how Sony manage their businesses. I used to own the original Playstation.

Sony announced that they're coming up with a new storage system. But that still don't justify what they did. If they were coming up with a new storage system, they should had released it at the same time as the new model. But they didn't.

SquareSoft is one of the biggest money makers on the Playstation platform, they should had been more cautious. Like I said, a bad, bad move.

well then I guess Squaresoft should get back working with Nintendo...just like in the good ol' days. :D lol though they already did release their first FF title for the gamecube months ago, and I think it sold pretty well, right?

I support your remarks about PSX, this is one major reason I prefer Xbox over PSX2 and Gamecube...and I felt worth it...PSX2 are really out of control with gaming and developers...I dont give crap about Sony...for PSP...I did consider getting one but I did some personal research and felt it is worthless even go same for Nintendo DS too.

In additional to comment...PSX2 was so PISSED off and they had to product ethernet card plus some additional feature this Xbox was ALREADY equipped with..so I felt less worry about have to buy add accessories..so curse Sony! So this is one other reason Sony got early development stage of PSX3 so they expect to make xbox look like choirboy! But I betcha Xbox wont!

Actually Sony started working on the PS3 when they were designing the Emotion chip for the PS2. They were working on concepts for PS3 and when the PS2 released, they announced that they will be developing the Emotion2 Chip for the PS3 and will be slated for a 2006 release. Maybe earlier than that.

10 years before the PS2 was released, Microsoft said that they will NOT make games as well as a gaming console because they feel that it is a waste of time... 10 years later. Xbox comes out along with a lot of PC games... Microsoft is such a hypocrite... Shame on Bill Gates... shame, shame.

at least Micosoft gave it a try and Xbox was solid GOLD. :D

sure can't wait to try Xbox 2 later this year. :P

yeah about 3 years later... PS2 became gold in its first year and the GCN became Gold about a few months later. XBox is lagging behind and finally became gold like a year and half later. Kinda pathetic, if you ask me.

how many more things will bill gates do to make extra billions of dollars? seesh what a greedy guy he is! and i believe he's somewhat is monopoling.
