Note the little USB port where the cord used to be on PS2. I think this is a wise move, keeping the desgin intact from the Dual Shock and not the double dildo desgin that Sony showed a while back.
I also hear that the PS3 will have two packages. $499 for a PS3 with 20GB HD, $599 for a PS3 with 60GB.

Nintendo is pretty gonna have the Wii's wand controller idea upstaged by those PS3 DS-3's lol

BREAKING NEWS

Moments ago, Sony showed the new PS3 controller in action...and it looks virtually identical to the PlayStation 2 Dual Shock!

But more important is what functions the new controller can perform. A real-time demonstration of the PS3's controller showed that players use the entire controller as a controller by tilting, flipping, and sliding the controller. This is in addition to the controller's standard button functions. The demo showed the upcoming PS3 game Warhawk in action, and the player can control the flight, rolls, and yaw of the jet simply by moving the controller accordingly.

This means that Sony has single-handedly taken a great deal of the wind out of Nintendo's Wii sails. The Wii is capable of tracking the user's hand motions to allow for new gaming experiences.

Analysis soon. Is Nintendo in trouble?

and did anyone see the trailers for the upcoming PS3 games esp Eight Days and the Getaway Part 3? *DROOLING*

Plus Sony did confirm the PS3 will be sold ala the xbox360 at 499 and 599

http://www.gametrailers.com/viewnews.php?id=3218

Sony has released the final pricing details for the PlayStation 3. The unit will come in two flavors: one with a 60 GB hard drive ($599 US) and one with a smaller 20 GB hard drive ($499 US).

The pricing is steeper than many initially hoped for, especially considering that the Xbox 360 currently sells for $299 and $399 (with 20 GB hard drive). There's still no word on the price for Nintendo's Wii, but $249 is the current E3 rumor.

Interest that someone post...

First controller with the D-Pad: NES
First controller with shoulder buttons: SNES
First controller with thumbstick: N64
First controller with rumble: N64
First controller with a trigger: N64
First first-party created wireless controller: GC's WaveBird
First tilt-sensitive controller: Wii

GC's Wavebird as wireless controller? I dunno, I thought it was NES that I used to have one.

Uh, it's a remake of the PS2 controller only with wireless capability.
I wasn't talking about the controller...

hint: read the last sentence in the first post.

What last sentence? the 360 controller is boring and bland.

So Sony's obviously copying Microsoft. Big deal.
Do you state this because of the wireless function? If so.. :Owned: once again. Wireless functionality is OLD, as OLD as the NES. The 360 has ZERO movement sensors or anything like Nintendo's Wii controller or Sony's PS3 controller. The Wii and PS3 are similar in a sense, but the Wii is more interactive. The PS3 controller will act like a guide when, for example flying in a game. You tilt the controller to make the plane tilt. Nintendo's Wii will sense any kind of movement, be it stabbing, swinging, or steering.

It's so much fun owning you, Steel. So much fun.

Nope. not about wireless function either so...the more you :Owned: me, the much more I :Owned: you back.

Please.. tell me how you owned me. I must know. I must!
Wait.. It's the HD packages!!! How lame, steel, how lame. its not like M$ copyrighted it.
Edit: Oh yeah, refer to my sig. :D

actually they are copying Nintendo back to 1985. Nintendo does sell two versions. one with robot and other without robot.

lmao, wtf, guys.
steel x was refering to the last sentence of the first post
("$499 for a PS3 with 20GB HD, $599 for a PS3 with 60GB.").
he meant that sony's copying ms's core and premium packs plan, the only difference is that sony's core pack has hd wherea ms's core does not.
but like he said, no big fuckin deal.

back on topic,
i might be wrong but i read somewhere that the ps3 controller wont has a rumble feature bec of legit reasons, it'd suck if true.

PS3 will not have a rumble because it interferes with the motion sensors. As a Deaf gamer, I really like the rumble feature in games. I think the Wii will have a rumble feature in the remote..
