your windows xp can't use upgrade to windows 7 bec no vista, buy windows 7 full version.. no upgrade... your computer xp's system restore pick on date about two or three months ..restore will be fine..

Windows XP System Restore Is Easy to Use

Use System Restore
After you've decided to use System Restore to revert your system to a previous state, start the System Restore Wizard and follow the prompts. To use the System Restore Wizard, make sure you're logged on as an administrator, and then follow these steps:

1.
Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click System Restore.

2.
On the Welcome screen, click Restore my computer to an earlier time, and then click Next.

3.
On the Select a Restore Point page, select the date from the calendar that shows the point you'd like to restore to, as shown in Figure 2, and then click Next.

4.
On the Confirm Restore Point Selection page, verify that the correct restore point is chosen, and then close any open programs.

5.
Click Next if you are ready to proceed or click Back to change the restore point.

6.
The computer will shut down automatically and reboot. On reboot, you'll see the Restoration Complete page, and then click OK.

After reviewing the stability of your system, you can choose another restore point or undo this restoration. Just open System Restore and make the appropriate choice. After you use System Restore, you'll have an additional task, Undo my last restoration, on the System Restore Welcome page. Remember that you'll have to reinstall any programs that were installed after the restore point.

If System Restore doesn't work in Normal Mode, it might work in Safe Mode. To use System Restore in Safe Mode, press the F8 key during reboot and choose Safe Mode. When your computer starts in either Safe Mode or Normal Mode, System Restore can be used to capture a working previous state. System Restore can't be opened unless the system is bootable into one of these modes.

before updating to win 7 make sure your processor can support it
you can go to the website for your computer and get the specs for it
there you can find out if it will support win 7
vista came in both 32 bit and 64 bit versions and you had to make sure your processor could support it before you could use the 64 bit version.
2nd you need to make sure you have enough memory (ram) to run it

that is rough fix on something delete on file temporary I don't know what is happened strange odd I suspect to something wrong problem Google conflict to Explorer and Opera I figure out hard to understand not easy! I think so might to problem hard to update I wish be visita, can't won't help because doesn't help ram I am not sure how figure out how feeling! i guess I might to figure out rough!

go to control panel and select see information about your computer
or click on classic view and click on the system icon
under the general tab ti will show you the processor speed and the total ram
you can research the processor to find out if it is 32 bit or 64 bit.

you want at least 2 gig of ram for vista to run decently and 4 or more for windows 7 to run properly

My cu;p N270 @ 1.60GHz and
1.60GH 0.99Gb of ram

I think so might to, I can't remember forget it on click command give me command please easy simply command I forget thank

ASAP

you are running a dual core processor and according to the specs this is a 64 bit processor so it should support win 7 but I would get more memory.
if your system is running a dual core processor it may support up to 6 or 8 gig of ram
but I would go to the website for your machine and check the specs for it.
that will tell you how much memory you can put in it and the correct type of memory

hope this helped a bit
