Before I go to bed, are you sayin' the father is the dog owner? Maybe ya' confused?

No, I am not confused. The dog owner is the neighbor and he trained the dogs to fight in the first place which caused the chain of events. That is why I think the dog owner/neighbor is at the fault. If the dog owner/neighbor didn't train the dogs to fight, the pregnant teen will not be attacked. Got it?

WRONG. The dogs owner deserved to be shot to death. The dogs were simply doing what the owner had taught them to do. In the end, one dog was shot and killed; the other will most likely be euthanized; and the owner will get a slap on the wrist; and more people will be turned against a breed of dog that is simply beautiful IMHO and like most dogs they act on the action's of their owners.


Does this dog look like he is ready to kill you or your dog? He get's along great with small dogs, children, etc, etc.........is very protective of a small child also. Has he ever bit anyone? NO. Would you like to know why? He was raised by a decent human being

My neighbor has three pit bulls. They were unleashed and came out of no where into my yard and grabbed my yorkie. The three dogs mauled him. I tried to get them to let go, but I just couldnt. They should have turned on me. I could have put up more of a fight. It was the worst thing in the world to watch a furry family member get killed and I failed to save him. I rushed him to the animal er but it was too late.

They also killed a golden retriever and hurt a wiener dog.

That's so sad. I am sorry that happened to your dog.

I used to have a pitbull also, and she was a wonderful dog. I do think it is the fault of the owners.

My friend has a pitbull puppy and he is extremely hyper and really jumped on my dog from all angles. Everyone blamed the fact that he was a pit bull. I blamed the fact that he was just a very very hyper puppy that needed to be trained. Good thing my friend takes him to obiendience school every Saturdays. So much energy!!!

Owners that allow their animals attack other people should be charged with assault with a deadly weapon...or Manslaughter.

What I mean by "allow" is not taking the responsibility to keep the animals in control and letting them run loose. Might as well play Russian Roulette.

Just read (Yahoo news) where in Conn., a 2 month old baby was mauled and killed by 3 pit bulls inside the house........so the pit bulls were not running loose. Dunno where the parents were at the time of the attack....but leaving a 2 month old around 3 pit bulls....I dunno what to say!

No child should be left alone with a dog of any breed, especially if it's more than one dog.

Any dog can be vicious, it just depends on how they were raised. I'm sick and tired of people looking down there noses at pitbull's, SERIOUSLY. A person can raise any dog to think its 9 foot tall and bullet proof.

people need to stop being so judgmental. not all pitbulls are going to be evil monsters. i was at the animal shelter a few weeks ago and i saw a lot of pitbulls there. they were as mean as a box of kittens

Umm, the daughter's life was in danger and the only way to stop the dog was to kill it. Im glad the father brought his gun and put a bullet hole in the dog's head.

Greed. There are money to be made in dog fighting. Also the dogs are used to guard drugs. I would love to see all dog fighting, cock fighting and any animal fighting gone. I would love to see the dog racing and horse racing gone as well. I have often heard that greyhounds too old/weak to race are abandoned.

I agree with you 100%. We have a lot of cockfighting going on down here in Texas even though it is illegal. It is so sad because when a cockfight is busted all the roosters have to be euthanized because cockfighting is all they know to do and are very aggressive and euthanizing them is the most humane thing we can do for them. They can't lead normal lives because they don't know how to - they've been trained for cockfighting all their lives. It's sad. Same goes for dogfighting dogs.

I was attacked by a chocolate lab, my huskey survived for 2 weeks before passing during treatment. My mom was nearly killed by a German Sheppard. And I'm terrified of my friends chiwawa, it has broken skin on me more than once.
The media over plays pitbulls because of the $$$ they get from the stories and pits are an easy target because they can do more damage than a chiwawa. but they are less agressive than most small dogs and attack less than many big dogs. Often a dog is even labeled a pit if it attacks because of the owners when there isn't even a strand of pit in the dog.

That is why, I don't like the pit bulls after i see many stories about pit bull attacks before.

I think Pit Bulls are fine because I knew a friendly one. My sister owns a pure bred red Pit Bull and another dog who is half Pit Bull and half yellow Lab. Both dogs are good. That is why I am focused on the owner not the dog.

I was nearly bitten by a German Sherpard because of the owner (a classmate at high school who I considered to be immature.)
