Postal Worker Accused of Dumping Mail in Trash

What is average pay for federal employees?

My VR counselor said usually around $30,000 to $50,000, depending on federal departments and positions.

The cost of living in our area is much lower so $50,000 is enough, but not in NYC area.

The average federal wage is going to be higher for the reasons i listed before. If you want an acurate comparison you need to look at comperable jobs. Its because the average private sector job is not white collar.

Did you know that federal employees salary or hourly pay is public information. You can find out easily.

Are you serious? I believe that federal employees are paid better, great benefits and good working condition.

Really? Is that why I was earning $30K a year when I returned to federal service with a M.Ed., and nearly three years of government experience under my belt? People need to get a reality check. I don't know where the Hell you get your information about jobs, but State and Federal jobs suck. Only politicians and those connected get the cushy positions. Government work is the only area where an employee can rot at the same low pay as when they started, be it ten or fifteen years. If I didn't have a learning disability holding me back, I'd have gone into Veterinary Science and had a career I loved. No one with options chooses this line of work, it's a dead end.

that's why I loooooooooooooooooool'ed when I got a job offer from defense agency. after I graduated from college, I applied to a bunch of places. I got hired by a college. a month later, the agency contacted me about the job. they were offering me half of what I made at that time.

insulting. absolutely insulting.

I only learned from my VR counselor that have some clients work for federal, so he said they paid very well, at cost of living in my state.

$30,000 per year is bad for your state, even NYC too.

might be a good idea to not rely on your VR counselor for a bunch of information that is beyond his scope of work.

*shrug* Our VR counselor has a lot of resources to help with employment, including private sector and public sector (federal, state, local) so they share an information with clients to make best decision about future plan. Also, my VR counselor is specialized to deal with deafblind, especially usher syndrome and he wants me to ensure any job opportunities that suitable to my accommodation needs. I trust my VR counselor very much and he's from CODA and I'm under extra support with VR due to usher syndrome.

I will take your word if I don't have usher syndrome, however I'm dealing with those now.

I didn't know that Lau makes $30,000 per year and it is expensive to live in Massachusetts, so poor to her. :(

it's $30,000 everywhere.

My point - it isn't uglier in my state but it is much uglier in your state and Lau's state.
no offense but not many people want to live in a hilly-billy state.

I'm not offended and I'm not naturally from southern state, despite about was born in NC because of military family.

Life in Alabama sucks, but comfortable with money.

Public transportation in here is obviously abysmal - you will extremely disappointed, confused, lost and robbed.

there you go. cheaper cost of living doesn't necessarily translate to nicer living situation. and job availabilities.

Yes, if I get a new job at federal with lousy pay so I won't stay for very long time, however it is good opportunity to increase the experience.
