Postal Worker Accused of Dumping Mail in Trash

Not making a legal case or concocting anything, just supporting my view. I never strayed from what we where told of the situation if you can call them facts.

Say, you expect mail to arrive on the 15th each month and one of them have not arrived, u have chance to call the bank and investigate.

with Online, if somebody successfully hacked your account, how do you know? There is NO way you know unless the funds are empty.

not quite easy to hack into bank. you have to log in to access paperless statement.

this option is much more secure than mail.

Common Sense: Check bank online frequently - daily at least.

If you have credit card so you will protected under zero liability policy.

The bank websites are extremely secured.

the work can be extremely hard and the pay is crap. of course this is bound to happen.

As a federal employee, the pay is crap, the management expectations are unrealistic and the pressure is unbearable at times, yet I've never destroyed public property. What about people expecting medications through the mail, pay checks? It should never happen. You act out like that on the job, you should be fired.

Are you serious? I believe that federal employees are paid better, great benefits and good working condition.

She is right, find out how much Obama makes? You will be surprised. The only additional benefits presidents gets is golden parachute retirement with full security.

But, yeah the pay and benefits used to be great if it is 50 years ago.

It's hard to compare federal employees to private sector. Generally there are more white collar jobs with the feds and the lower paying jobs are sourced out to private contractors. There are a lot of numbers tossed around by people with agendas. Hard to know who to believe.

Obama makes $400,000 per year as president with great benefits, but you can't compare with between executive (president) and regular employees (federal employees) like Lau. The president is one of highest position too.

Maybe, she makes $50,000 per year and still bad for her because living in New England is very expensive, but making $50,000 isn't bad in southern states.

Hey Lau, you should glad that you aren't working at Walmart or McDonald's, though.

Private sectors? USPS, US President, Federal employees are public sector.

Yes I was talking about federal employees vs private sector.
private sector gets paid so ridiculously well especially if they were former seasoned federal employees.

again - paperless option is still much safer than mail by a thousand mile. majority of identity theft cases came from papers.

my iPhone will let me know. and I say good luck trying to hack into bank account.

security's very tight these days. and it's very effective.

paid better? federal employee? LOOOOOOOL

benefits are only great after you put in certain amount of time. good working condition yes but if you're cool with "you use what we have, not what you want or wish to have" work atmosphere.

Yes I was talking about federal employees vs private sector.

former federal employees go straight to consulting firms or universities and get paid well. lucratively well. typically 4-6x more than what they get paid from federal government.

that's why private contractors outnumbers American soldiers in Iraq & Afghanistan. on the average - a private security detail and truck driver get paid 2-4x more than a security detail comprises of US Army soldiers.

what it comes down to is that it depends on what work you're doing in federal government and your rank.... experience and knowledge. if you've got what the private sector wants, they'll pay anything for it.

What is average pay for federal employees?

My VR counselor said usually around $30,000 to $50,000, depending on federal departments and positions.

The cost of living in our area is much lower so $50,000 is enough, but not in NYC area.

there's no average. the government uses pay scale as according to your experience, qualification, position and agency.... meaning - you do not get to negotiate. you accept what they give you as according to its pay grade. check out General Schedule as an example.

Oh I see, it means private sector is mostly negotiation?

of course.

but of course... a private sector is fast-paced and volatile. you can get fired at any time. it's demanding and result-oriented. no result, no pay. simple as that.

in government... you clock in for 40 hours a week and you get paid.
