TrippLA asked me if I'd start a new thread for him here in order for him to discuss Playstation 3. I'm not sure if he's having problems creating threads or not, so here you are, a Playstation 3 related thread for you :) Hope this is what you were asking for! Have a great day!

yay a place of refuge for ps2 fans!

I got a Question:

the DS3's lack of rumble for the motion sensor, good or bad and why.

my opinion is that it's bad, the DS2 felt great, the design of the controller have always been hailed as one of the best, and the rumble is definity one thing that made it even better. I think that with out Rumble, some games will take a hit, because the rumble provides force feedback, somtthing that some games will feel empty without.

I haven't hear about motion sensor...

go to gamespot.com or ign.com and you'll find plenty of info on the PS3's hardware.

Motion sensor is just like Wii controller?

Not like the Wii. It's interesting, because Sony had some people whip up a tilt sensor 2 or 3 weeks before E3, which shows they are worried about the Wii. The demo of Warhawk for PS3 and the tilt sensor showed that tilting the controller tilted the plane in the game demo. I think it is nice, but limited. The Wii's motion sensor seems much much better, and will include sound and rumble in the Wiimote. Sony also stated that the PS3 controller will not have rumble or shock features because they could not get it to work with the tilt, or it would not work with the tilt. It is possible Sony will be able to add the rumble/shock to it before the PS3 launches.

I hope that Sony will add shock and it already have tilt.

from what I heard, sony will not be bringing shock back, because of a disagreement or conflict. they're using the tilt/motion sensor in place of the rumble.

What's different between rumble and shock?

they're the same thing with different name because of the variation of human minds and ideas.

rumble = shock = the motor that make your Dual Shock 2 shake like no tomorrow

OMG!!! NO RUMBLE FEATURE?! so sad...

well, its weird that Wii would have rumble feature even thou it has motion sensor also.

...and also a built in speaker for the wiimote as well.

I dunno, It's up for Sony but not fully official about controller but I'm sure that Sony would add new shock in controller in around 2008 or who knows. I'm getting PS3 in summer 2007 instead of Nov 2006 because I'm just wait when demand is going back to normal.

Why are you worrying? Have you heard of the third party controller for ps3?

Aye, but hey if Sony was sued for the rumble feature shit, then the third party companies who work on third party hardware for Sony proably can't do the rumble feature either...who knows?

Dude, they sued sony( first party controller) but not sue third party licenses(niko, whatever other called) sony has a great move. If u want a rumble controller on ps3? Buy a third party controller because they did pay license fee. Sony saved a lot of money and won't pay the company.

Hmm... I don't know what to say. The Playstation 3 isn't out yet. The one game I'm looking forward to is Metal Gear Solid 4. :thumb:

That game alone will sell a lot of PS3s.

If Metal Gear Solid 4 won't port to Xbox360 then PS3 would be the only reason I bought cause of MGS4.

I doublt they will, since the DS3 don't have rumble, the game may not support rumble, and so it would be pointless.
