Locals need help throwing world's largest pillow fight

A record involving one of your childhood pastimes could be broken. The world's largest pillow fight is scheduled to run for one minute on December 10, at the South Towne Expo Center in Sandy.
With additional events such as a fashion show, dance and door prize giveaways, the hope is to get enough participants to break the previous 2,776 people pillow fight mark.
UVSC student Aaron Browning came up with the idea, along with his friend/entrepreneur, Brian Hardenburg, as well as several business sponsors. Utah's very own Wasatch front residents could break the record with students from Brigham Young University, UVSC and Weber State University. Every "body" needs to get involved, including security guards, EMT's, and of course a clergyman to witness the phenomenal event. There will be "an arsenal of volunteers," Hardenburg said, to deal with all the paper work, permission slips and insurance waivers protecting the sponsors from insurance liability.
Everyone will be expected to sign these liability forms before entering and exiting the pit.
There is a fee of $10 to be involved in this monumental activity, but fortunately you can get a $3-off discount coupon at various sponsors' locations and on flyers that will be passed out the week of the event.
Hardenburg hopes for a record-breaking turnout, but since "Utah Valley thrives on a good party" he and his crew want students to be motivated by fun. Hardenburg and his associates not only hope for a paragraph in the "Guinness Book of World Records" but anticipate turning a profit as well.
If the record is subsequently broken by another group of fun seekers, Hardenburg feels the efforts won't have been in vain. "That page can be ripped out and framed and we all can say we were a part of it."
