Pet Grooming??....

When I went to the pet mart the other day, I saw a dog sitting on this steel table while this lady was using a clippers by shaving the dog's fur, I noticed that the dog didn't hardly moved at all just sat there the whole time :shock: ....When I had a black cocker spaniel dog about 6 years ago, I brought a box of clippers at the store since her hair was getting a bit messy and long, so I decide to try to do it myself without taking her in a pet grooming to have it done, boy, it was soo hard to cut one inch of her fur, she kept barking at the clipper everytime I turned it on, so I decide to turn it off and wait until I got closer to her back , then once I turned it on, she started jumping around and barking at it....I couldn't get her to sit for 2 seconds while I tried to use the clipper to get her a nice hairdo.. :rofl:

Has anyone ever gone thru something like this before?...

:laugh2: THINK UR DOG CUTE BARK AT CLIPPER YES SINCE NOISE I LET MY DOG OREO USED TO IT FROM HEAR CLIPPER TOLD HIM WONT HURT HIM HE LISTEN TO ME SINCE PUPPY HE USED TO CLIPPER ALREADY I ALWAYS GROOMIN MY DOG OREO KEEP HIM CLEAN HE IS MIXED POODLE/TERRIER YES ALOT DOG DONT LIKE CLIPPER SINCE NOISE NEED USE OIL IN CLIPPER S BLADE IT SMOOTH NOT BUZZZZZZZZZZZZ SCARED DOGGIE'Z EAR :lol:
 
Yea I have done that to my dog in the pix. Boy she will sit on his azz and wont stand up so I can shaved his azz with lot of hair. Oh boy oh boy not easy sometimes I get snapped by him. So I prefer let the groomer take care of him. So no problem there lol .

Yea, my good friend that has dog that been going to grooming alot of times but until the last visit her dog went to. The lady didn't expect that happened to the dog which the dog had bath, then cut until the lady cut right above his eyes and the lady accidently cut with scissors to cut hair which covered with eyes and cut above his eyes. What a pain in the azz this lady has caused this dog.. Pityfull. Anyway, my kitty, Tiger loves to go to have grooming which she loves to have bath and clean.. :lol:

I guess it would be much harder to clip your own pet...let's see, trying to clip the pet's hair while not having the pet on a leash AND on a table, just like it is done with the Pet Groomers...that'll be sure to keep an animal steady and still...and ofc, without snappin' at your precious fingers while you're down in the area that's sensitive (simply put: their azz)....

Very cute and funni with trying to handle your dog and not getting anything clipped! :lol:

I think next time when I own a dog, I'll just take my dog to the groomer just to save my time LOL....
 
I never cut or shave my 2 dogs, they would bite me if I bring the clipper closer to them. I had to make appointment at the groomer for them to go in for haircut and everything.
 
My wife and I have two dogs; a toy poodle and a Lhasa Apso/poodle mix in the 30 - 40 pound range. We sometimes do our own grooming if we are strapped for cash. We eventually plan to do all our own grooming when we have more time and our skill levels increase. We can eventually save about $500 a year if we do it entirely ourselves.

It’s not as hard as it looks to do a basic, no-frills cut, and it’s kind of fun. PetSmart can sell you a DVD put out by the Oster Corporation which shows how to do basic grooming. And yes, the dog does have a tendency to squirm more when their owner is doing the grooming, so keep plenty of treats on hand, and reward them when they settle down.
 
Wow cool Levonian , maybe I'll hire you and your lovely wife to do my pets hairdo one day ;)
 
There is a groomer across the street from my mobile home park so I can walk there. LOL but since I have another dog who have short hair so I dont need a groomer for there I just do it myself. No clipping at all except for her nails.
