House Speaker Issued Unprecedented Demands for Military Aircraft and Wasted Taxpayer Resources with Last Minute Cancellations

Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, announced today that it has obtained documents from the Department of Defense (DOD) detailing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's multiple requests for military air travel. The documents, obtained by Judicial Watch through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), include internal DOD email correspondence detailing attempts by DOD staff to accommodate Pelosi's numerous requests for military escorts and military aircraft as well as the speaker's last minute cancellations and changes.

So it is about Pelosi being a corrupt government official?

Granted that after 9/11 President Bush put in place the military travel for high ranking officials - Pelousi is 3rd in line for the Presidency - but I believe the point of the matter is that the safety and security measure is and has been abused.
Just by Pelousi? No. However, she seems to care little for her own constituents or any others unless she gets exactly what she wants when she wants it. Perhaps a personality flaw or too much perceived power.

There’s been a lot of controversy about the expense of and use of military aircraft to get Speakers of the House around in recent years — especially when Nancy Pelosi asked for an upgrade (and because she’s a she). That is apparently about to end. Presumptive Speaker Boehner just told reporters he’s flown commercial for 20 years and will continue to do so as Speaker.
