"It appears that Colorado has adopted the common-law age of consent for marriage as 14 for a male and 12 for a female, which existed under English common law," the ruling said. "Nevertheless, we need only hold here that a 15-year-old female may enter into a valid common-law marriage."

The appeal was filed by Willis Rouse, 38, who is serving time for escape and a parole violation. He argued that he and the girl began living together in April 2002 and applied for a marriage license a year later.

The girl had become legally independent by then, but her mother also consented to the marriage and accompanied the girl and Rouse to obtain a license, the ruling said.

A judge invalidated the marriage, saying anybody under age 16 needed judicial approval for either common-law or ceremonial marriage.

My comment: That legal loophole will be effectively shut down to protect innocent lives. This law was for over 100+ years ago where there were no real medical advances in the medical field. They had to marry very early for health reasons and not for lust reasons. They had been doing that as early as Egypt as well as in the Bible Land days too only for the health reasons.

NAMBLA is not the only organization out there working very hard to make man/boy relationships legal and there is a woman/girl organization that is trying to make this type of sick girl/woman relationship to be completely legal too. I saw that somewhere else on Stormfront. Many women on the Stormfront website were aghast with digust. I also do not want my daughter of 12 -13 years old to be having sexual relations with a full grown woman. That is very digusting and that will shatter my daughter's innocence.

Children today do not need to be subject to those kinds of things. We live today in a society where there are more good medical health advances which in turn helps us to live better lives with higher moral values.

This is not the 16th or 17th century or even 18th century at all where a young girl had a real need to be married and pregnant at a very early age purely for health reasons.

We live in the 21st century and there is no excuse for that. I hope the courts will make a good common sense law to protect the children from these kinds of things so they can live a more innocent life beside that, there is no need to do that anymore. We live in a very modern today's world.

It's not pedophilia if the kid is post-puberty. It's also not puberty if they continue to be together.

Pedophilia is the "psychosexual disorder in which there is a preference for sexual activity with prepubertal children."

So, as long as the child is AFTER PUBERTY, and as long as the person doesn't abandon them as they grow older and stop being "pre-pubecent", then they're not pedos.

I think it's rather incorrect to label anyone who has legal sex or a legal relationship with someone over the age of consent as a pedophile. It is immoral, in my opinion, and in many cases very disgusting when it's an abusive and controlling situation, but the only reason we're so hung up on it is because we've been socially taught by "Christian values" that sex comes after marriage and marrying later is better than marrying earlier.

I agree. We all must gaurd ourselves against any organization that supports ideals that go against our own code of ethics. On the face of it, I can sort of understand why Heath would support Stormfront's position on protecting children.
