Pagers...need help to find a better pager....

I need bit of help here..

I have ogo, that I am not pleased at all with its device and services. It is gonna stop this week because a lot percentage doesn't use ogo (its crap anyway)...

I am looking for a pager that has unlimited text messaging like IM/ Emails etc.

the biggest problem is that I can not have built in camera or Blackberry pager for my work because it is prohibited since I work for gov't with military. I have looked and looked... having no luck.

any ideas for the pager? Much appreciated. Thx.
 
other additionals. which websites would be best for me to look up for pagers. thanks....
 
From Tmo, check out Motorola A630. It is really nice, and I have seen this device. It does not have camera capacity. I am not sure if it have unlimited text messaging. But it does have IM, and it is also web based.
 
Correction: ooops I thought it don't have camera in it. Gee! I must have overlooked that part. Sheesh, I don't have any ideas 4 u. sorry

You can get Nokia 6800 from T-Mobile-to-go. You pay probably prepaid of $25 (once in 90 days) and use text-message ad AIM (charge 10¢ each you sign in). All total of $25 worth, you get 300 text-message send. Received is FREE. It has excellent antenna than original sidekick (bw and/or color). You should able find one at CompUSA or Best Buy.

That's weird as the US Gov't is Blackberry's biggest user. They are the reason the Blackberry will not have a built-in camera or add-on card slots.

yeah I know... they are afraid that they would download info from the computer.. I do see military ppl walking around with them.. hmmm I just got notice from work saying it is prohibited...

I would buy blackberry and turn it off.. will that hurt?? since I do see people using it outside of building but not inside...hmm...makes no sense at all.
 
You can't have a blackberry? Any particular reason why not, because it is in fact quite the thing to fit the bill in this case?

Otherwise, I'd have to state that you can get a non-camera Treo 600, maybe even a Treo 650. There are some Windows Mobile cell phones with keypads like the Audiovox PPC-6600. Wait, maybe that one has a camera too?
 
I see what you mean, partly yes can be downloaded onto blackberry. I know it is NOT that easy, and only specific software and application is downloaded, but Dept of Defiense is too paranoid based on bad experiences with spies during cold war.

I really don't see any solution, device without camera and unlimited text messaging? This is the most difficult specification to find!

Turning the blackberry off won't do any harm! It is just like turning PC off, and it will come back on later anyway.

yeah I just talked to my boss trying to find a solution, he is determined to make sure I don't bring blackberry to work.. I told him what is wrong to turn off and etc. he has to call and contact security to see if that is allowed or not. okaaayyy whatever....

I thought treo 600 does have camera?? this sux big time. :ugh:
 
i did check LG F9100... their plan is not very good thru cingular.. very very limited.. costs 25 cents per word... either sent or recieve. that is ridiculous.
 
It seems like he is not understanding, so let me try:

Blackberries do NOT have cameras in them!

I think that would be you. I may be reading it wrong, but the reason given that you can't get a Blackberry does not seem right. There are NO cameras in Blackberry's.
 
duh, i know that blackberry has no cameras... I did mention in my first post that I can not have built in camera phone/pagers or have any kind of Blackberry pagers,, either way.

i only can have pagers that have no cameras in... or have pagers that is not made by blackberry company.

My boss is working on this issue and see if I can get special permission from gov't to let me to use blackberry if I happen to purchase one. will let u know the progress.. it is pain in the butt overall.
 
I think the miliary was worried about Blue Tooth Technology in Blackberries. but the 7230 doesnt have it. Tell your boss that it doesnt have one. but it doesnt have the AIM that you would like. its already installed but you have to press refresh button all the time...
 
Dowing, The Sidekick doesn't work in your area or at work area ??

sidekick 1 dont have camera built in.
Can buy camera attachment, but dont bring it to work.

Sidekick 2 do have camera built in, so dont get that one.

If you get data plan, it will cost 29.99 unlimited text message, emails, internet and aim. Can surf on internet, but cannot be download that I know of.

It is hard to find sidekick 1 because sidekick is selling sidekick 2. So you may have to look around to find someone who may sell sidekick 1 or get it off from ebay.

good luck finding one if you decide to get one.
