Over 60 birthday

My friend invited us for her parent's birthday party, 65th and 60th. I know them that well! They all are deaf.
I plan to get the cashes in the card for them. My friend told me that they have not used the restuarnt certificate gifts since x mas and they have not wear new clothes for their past birthday or x mas. SO i decide to get them the cashes. In case, if i may not think of something else to get a gift. What about you, your family or relatives or grandparents what they like so much for the gift?

My parents would prefer cashes too! they have never used the restuarant certificate or clothes except very casual tops.

I just had my 60th birthday. Hubby gave me a digital photo frame for storing and showing my pictures, and he took me to one of my favorite seafood restaurants. My daughter gave me a large Yankee candle and.a gift card to my favorite clothing store. I've already used the card.

I love getting restaurant cards.

My friend's parents have several restarant cerficiate gifts and they don't use them yet since x mas. I know them very well. They are very casual and humble people. They only focus on my friend' two daughters who are under age 6. I hope to think of soemthing else than the cashes you know?

If they don't feel comfortable going to restaurants, there's another way to use them to great advantage (we've done it). Depending on the restaurant, you can make a take out order online and pay for it with the gift card. That way, you can get more bang for the buck because you're using the card just for the food, not for drinks or tip, and you can eat it in the comfort of your own home. If their grandchildren live nearby, they can also treat them with the cards.

Even humble and casual people need to eat.

So, for Christmas, I printed out an official looking gift certificate for a certain number of free "Granny Squad" tech help hours. Now, she can call me for help and not feel obligated. (Of course, I don't really keep track of the hours. ) Also, if she needs real tech support over the phone, I do the call for her.

That is very sweet and thoughtful of you. Is it my imagination, or are all senior citizens allergic to computers?
Every couple weeks a teenager comes into here to shake out my computer. He won't take payment but I steer him to odd jobs, so it works out.

They usually do for spagetti valentines day party, picnics and the raffles, and they also show up the deaf club meetings.
