That is more than scary that is outrageous ! And what does garnishing people wages has to with protecting the environment ???
Its old, they have started abuse their power years, and years ago while most are unaware of... or too ignorant... Sad!
I know the EPA is a joke in my state , they're not out to protect the environment anymore , they out to make $$$. The EPA looked the other way so homeowners living on the beach can do as thy please to protect their houses no matter no it affect the ocean. The houses are worth a million dollars and bring a lot taxes money for the city and state . I had called EPA about this and other things and was totally disgusted with them. I agree with you people are going to wake up one day and find out that lost all their rights and it will be too late to do anything about it.

When I worked with the Department of Defense, the abuses I saw (towards the employees) would make your hair stand on end. I'll never know how any agency could be so abusive and get away with so much obviously illegal practices. They get away with it because they can....

I heard about government jobs are hard to get fired.
It the same in my condo people give too much power to the trustees and no talk back .
I am not very well liked with some of the trustees.
I heard that - last April, my Dad's first weekend home after six days in the hospital recovering from a heart attack, was an SOB having a ten hour cookout - made a mess of our condo by letting the kids go where ever...party ended at ten PM (started 9 AM) when everyone got drunk (did I mention we have a pond and there were unsupervised children?) My Dad spoke to him the next time he saw this guy at the grill and his response was "I don't see no sign so I can do what I want, when I want and for how long I want." I was so angry I wrote one of the board members....she never replied...not surprised....
Your dad really talk to someone and see if can keep that jerk from having anymore wild party and you should also read the condo bylaws ,there may be something saying people have to keep noises down after a certain hour if not see if the trustees can add that to the bylaws .
We're trying to do that. We had some 20 year olds that used the grill on Wednesday or Thursday last week at 9PM. They were from the other building but they used the key to enter this one for the bathroom and set the function room AC on 64. We'd love to try and prevent people from getting a key to this building given the abusive behavior. Next time there's a cook out for more than two hours, I am calling the cops. I call them often for people that trespass so they probably know me by heart. They're slow to respond, if they come out at all...
According to The Washington Times, the agency announced the plan to enhance its purview last week in a notice in the Federal Register. The notice claimed that federal law allows the EPA to "garnish non-Federal wages to collect delinquent non-tax debts owed the United States without first obtaining a court order."
The push remains up in the air, however, as the agency says any "adverse comments" would prevent the EPA from moving forward -- and some criticism has emerged in recent days.
The EPA has claimed this new authority by citing the Debt Collection Improvement Act of 1996, which gives all federal agencies the power to conduct administrative wage garnishment, provided that the agency allows for hearings at which debtors can challenge the amount or the terms of a repayment schedule.
bottom line... pay your tax and don't be late
It says "non-tax debts" so that would not be taxes.bottom line... pay your tax and don't be late
I don't get it. What debts? What fines?
