Our deaf class cancelled...

Here is the situation that I would like to share with you all...no bashing or negative remarks please...just want to hear your opinions and supportive...

Ive been attending to small hearing church for a year...only attend on Wed nights Bible Study...we have deaf class on wed nights and we go to hearing service with interpreters on sunday mornings only....Ive been going on sunday mornings sometimes...not all times..

Anyway, the couple both are interpreters...her husband has been teaching us on wed nights in deaf class...anyway, her husband decided to punish us and closed bible study on wed nights for awhile...because there were misunderstanding situation/communication...I dont want to discuss what happened...but I felt that it was SILLY for the interpreter guy to quit teaching on wed nite and punish us...

Finally, he start teaching again on wed nights for a month now...I was thrilled that he has been teaching the book the man wrote is called, "The Purpose Driven Life"...We were going to be on chapter 2 this wed nite...until TODAY..I was :jaw: :shock: :confused: that he emailed me and others that he decided NO MORE BIBLE STUDY ON WED NITE! I was like :wtf: going on!

I foundout that he said there were new rules he set up a month ago that one of the list is for us deafies not to gossip against each others...and he said they broke the rules for gossiping so he decided no more bible study! :cold:

I dont understand at all...I emailed him and told him that he was immature! He need to stop giving up easy, etc...he said God is pleasing him for cancelling bible study..:confused:

I told him that my dad NEVER closed or cancelled church services just because of people gossip...NO! It didnt stop my dad from preaching the Word of God!

I strongly believe the deaf lady who is bossy - she probably told the interpreter that she was upset about gossip issues...I told the interpreter that he needs to back off when deaf community gossips outside of church...there is nothing to do with the church activities!

I am responding to people saying they are disappointed.....well, we are disappointed too. We hoped and prayed this class would be a chance for growth, and people to change. It is our firm belief that we should be concerned about what you are saying to deaf people outside of this church. It gives Church a bad name if gossip, and stab each other and can't get along. We believe this is God's church, and teaches truth. We teach love and caring and not selfish behavior. God loves us all the same, and we try to show that to each person who visits exactly same. Please pray about all of this and understand that it is not something we intended, but there does not seem any point or growth in the class. We truly hope to minister in interpreting both on Wed. and Sunday's to you all. We want to see all saved and serving the Lord, and that is our number one goal.

I think both of them are :ugh2: :roll: :crazy: :thumbd:

I really dont know what is going on! I have not gossip about anyone...and I dont understand why they are punishing us even we are innocence...that isnt fair or just!

I will NEVER go back there again! EVER AGAIN..TURNS ME OFF! :pissed:

Suffice to say without bashing... it is audsim at work and he has paronia about what people think of him. It is tooooo bad that he wants to play GOD by punishing Deaf people. He ought to be replaced or fired.

He is practicing discrimination by his behavior and his abuses.

Tell it to the head of church or agency wherever the program is at.

This is NO EXCUSE!

It is abuse!

A-Men.. :)

Same thing with my dad.. he taught bible study for many years before his death, he never gave up even teenagers or young adults and adults were giving him hard time..

Same with Jesus, He preached and Taught people, but people tossed harsh or rejected him in his face or behind his back, he still continued...

I am sorry that you have to go through, I wouldnt go back there, I would find different church.

God will judge that person who decided to cancel the bible study on every Wednesday. Once teacher did to all of the deafies in bible study class then he will feel guilty for not letting them learning God's word.. Does he think GOD's word is not enough powerful to reach the deafies' spiritual with heart??? Come on, :pissed: :rl: he think of too much negative.. :evil: How about Jeremiah, he was very crying and keep on preaching no matter what to sinners who were very rebillous. God told Jeremiah to keep on preaching no matter what! So he did not give up! Why not teacher do same thing?

Hey Coloravade, I advise you to talk to the pastor of the church about this happening. Can you all get together to speak up to the pastor and tell them how you feel about??????? :stupid: :rifle: :mad2: Have them sign the position and bring this to pastor and deacon!!!!!! Please straight out this problem!

Oh boy, thats too control and power over Deaf people as usual. I m not surprised about audist attitude people has to have their own ways. Period!!!.

Now you can see why they treat you like a children not an Deaf adults. That bugs me all those years. You could have report to higher position about this guy.

Well thats his loss in big time!

In a way, why bother to gossip about other people that has no life? Oh well, that s how we live in a very evil world as of today's.

Throwstones, We dont have a pastor of the church...he resigned last year...we are searching for new pastor at hearing church...our interpreter is not a pastor but layaway...

I hope you're joking....

This makes me glad I'm Catholic.

I am a volunteer Catholic church interpreter, and I would never do anything like that to anyone. (But I'm not a professional interpreter. ;) )

Then you need to speak with the deacons of the church. I did talk to my pastor few years ago and he refered me to see deacons. that is how I got my experience with the deacons but sometimes it won't work since I did explain everything to the deacon about my complaining on the deaf deacon and deaf ministry. He did never response to my concerning upon the situation by phone after meeting with him. He never help us to work out this problem.

yes, i am the daughter of preacher at Assembly of God church...but I ve been attending at Indpendent Baptist Church...

That is a strange situation. I've never heard of a Bible class being cancelled as "punishment". It seems to me, that if the class was having gossip problems, or other behavior problems, the teacher could have dealt with the members privately, or, if the problem was widespread, using it as a teaching tool and confronted the problem. Cancelling the class means closing off all teaching and training opportunities. That's a real shame. :(

I wonder if this could indicate there is more of a problem happening in the church than just that class. The pastor resigned, and there might not be strong leadership or unity in the church right now. It could be a larger general problem.
 
That is very unusual about the situation for cancelling it by punishing, it is inapprpriate way to do that. But as gossip goes, I know how it goes, the church I used to go that church is not just gossipping, its very deep gossip and many are hurting and left bec its beyond measure. Many are thinking they don't condone gossip, which I see they do and also taken lightly on gossip. True, it not appropriate by cancelling the class by causing of gossip. Several times in the bible did mentioned that tongue is like from hell and does kill someone spirit, emotions and mentally. Yes, if not succeeded in that church to be dealt, then I ask you to seek God's guidance what He wants you to do. Not just baptist, all denominatuons has the problem, but not all churches are like that. The church I used to go is far extreme gossip beyond imagining and its devatating and no forgiveness but happy for those who falls came back, but the gossippers applaud and praise the Lord and glad the person learned a lesson, but gossippers hasn't confess themselves. Its sad and hurtful. Its based how harshful the gossip is, but shouldn't cancel it by punishing, it is not of God. Ask the Lord what He wants you to do, and yes, pray before you do anything and let God lead you every step of the way.

How about Moses' example in the Bible? Moses is the greatest leader of Israel and led Israel people out of Egypt. Moses was very patient with Israel people with many kind of problems. Sometimes he got lost his temper toward Israel for keeping complaining all the times on him for need waters, foods, and other reasons. Moses really wanted to quit a leadership of Israel but GOD told him to keep on leading them to wilderness for 40 years before entered the Promise Land but God did not let Moses into Promise Land because He was angry to hit on the rock for water twice -- suppose to be ONCE! No matter what He had faced many problems for 40 years because the problem created him growing up! So You see that Moses died because his work is done. Therefore Israel people entered the Promise Land by Joshua as new leader. Do you think Moses and Joshua gave up the leadership??? no... GOD already used them for good purpose of leadership which would influence us to steay on leadership no matter what happen in the church.

Therefore we all do same thing to face many problem in church and must solve the problem daily. Why? Any kind of problem can create us growing up and strong! SMILE!

Gee, I am not shocked. sorry to say, I had bad experince with bible study at one church. My friend and I were hungry to knowledge about the bible but when we arrived there and found out they were bashing against Catholic. They tried to tell me how bad Catholic church, I said what it has do with bible study, I do not go there to listen their bs about CC or any other religion but God. Lost interest attending any of those churches after that.
 
No wonder, why I become an Agnostic at few weeks ago... :)
