oh oh another hurricane?

she is scared of hurricanes and I only had one hurricane and I survived. She needs to stop worrying about negative effects.

Yep, the news said it is tropical storm so it won't be really bad...I hope so!

I am glad that it is going to GA instead of here in ALA

It's now been upgraded to a hurricane, and they are talking about it going across the state, and reemerging into the Gulf of Mexico. From there, it'll probably hit the Panhandle

damn, another double punch for florida. do u know if it will become stronger while its in the gulf?

They haven't really said yet. They are still worried about it hitting S. FL, but I would think that as it re-emerges into the Gulf that it would get stronger.

damn that really sucks. the just got pounded by Dennis the Menace. i surfed him.

 I tried to edit. I shouldn't go predicting storm strength as I'm not a weather person, but suffice it to say that it probably will get stronger. How strong is yet to be determined.

u really never know it could fizzle to a tropical depression, or it could rage up to a category 5. u never know hurricanes are unpredictable

It's not going to be that big of a deal. I've actually seen worse than a category 1. However, those that live in the Panhandle better have their head's up! This could be a big deal for them.

Can i tie myself to your tree on your property?? so i can ride through the storm :giggle:

Unpredictable enough to rip ur head off, try tornadoes. They're much more unpredictable than hurricanes because we only know when it comes about 5 minutes before it spawns.

hurricanes produce torandos...so we get the best of both worlds...i guess we're lucky.. :ugh2:

Thanks for adding that, Yes hurricanes produce tornadoes. You got that correct.

I agree with OceanBreeze.....I've seen worse too concerning hurricanes. I've been through 3 of them last year and I survived all of them. I even been in one in 1979 (David) and that was a bad hurricane....yet I survived that one.

You have a point. If given a choice, I'd take a hurricane over a tornado ANY DAY!

Hurricanes CAN produce tornados. Down where I am, we see a lot of waterspouts. This is essentially a tornado that forms over a body of water. If it migrates to a landmass, it will trigger tornado warnings. Just this evening, this happened. These are generally weak, however, and quickly dissipate. The majority never touch down or cause damage.

wow at least two people are already dead from katrina.

I hate tornadoes.. hurricane comes.. everyone is expecting it and the evacuate.. tornadoes are unexpected.. can be anywhere and never know if they're coming or not.. I would rather have hurricanes than tornadoes. but unfortunely, I live in a tornado valley.. we get lots of tornado watches and warning mostly in spring and fall.. rarely in summer.. too cold in winter. I have a HUGE fear of tornadoes! :thumbd:
