Let's pretend that you're in Iowa or Missouri. I'm in Illinois. I've decided to invite you to a Deaf Christmas party that is taking place in Illinois. I would like to know if I should be obligated to offer you my couch or futon to sleep on for the night after party?
If you're coming from out of state, would you ask me if I had a place to sleep for you or will you wait and see if I'm going to offer you a place to sleep? Figuring that if I'm not going to offer a place to sleep, you may decide to not bother attending the party.
If I'm unable to offer a couch/futon for you to sleep on, but would like you to come to party, should I offer to pay a portion or full cost of hotel for you?
It would be a different story if you weren't invited, but want to go anyway.
I guess my question is what would you think of a person who invited you to drive from out of state to a party, but won't offer you a place to sleep?
