Occupy Harvard Happening Right Now!!!

^^ Evidence of matutolypea.

damnit, you made me look up the meaning of that word..."the state of being in a bad mood and easily annoyed, especially in the morning"

I am going to see if I can somehow casually drop this word into a conversation :D

^^^PFH isn't a demon at Scrabble for no reason!

^^^Me too! And Bananagrams - I'm wicked good there, lol.

I just discovered that you have to register, pay and log-in to see your link. I wish people would at least mention that the site they are linking to requires things like this!

Oh wow, I am sorry abou that! At the time I posted the link, it was available for all to see....but my other friends (and me as well!)also reported the same thing you said around this morning or so. If you google "Occupy Harvard", there will be more news.

As of now, the Yard is heavily regulated to only allow those with Harvard ID to enter. The deaf event being held in the Yard tonight was moved to another location. I also see some tents already set up as well.

I hope all of this is resolved soon because I want to walk through the Yard again!!!

You will certainly be looked at with awe. I used to have a neuropsych prof that used to throw out terminology for us to use at cocktail parties!:giggle:

Yet another word that I have to look up. I don't like admitting this to others but it's clear to me that you have a better vob than me.

I think a certain righ wing poster suffers from a permanent case of matutolypea. :giggle:

I am VERY proud of this. I think it rocks. Harvard is REALLY overprivilaged....Like a lot of the students there are either wealthy or products of prep schools (there's a reason why the prep schools are called feeder schools) Maybe this will start an important dialogue....and yeah I saw the news on Occupy Boston's newsfeed on Facebook.

ANd I think this is wonderful. I always thought I would have loved to have been alive in the '60's.....THIS is the NEW '60's!!!!!! The whole world is watching!!!!!

Actually....this is typical Harvard stereotypes. Most of Harvard students I know are not like that. Many received very generous financial aid, and many are just regular normal people from middle class families. I had talked to several of other Harvard students about this and they're bit frustrated with the typical view often held by deafdyke. Sure, there's wealthy students, but they don't make up the majority of Harvard, I believe.

But even the students went to prep schools (several I know did go to private schools), they all still worked hard regardless since I know Harvard aren't *that* easy.

As for Occupy Harvard...I think it's quite ironic that the occupy movement at Harvard is now the most exclusive movement that happens to be in one of the most exclusive schools in the world

Anyway, I still hope all of this is resolved soon so the Yard won't be closed off indefinitely!

Really? I read the Globe, and they do seem to bring up the concerns of the fact that Harvard can seem rather exclusive. I mean its good that there's some middle class kids represented but still...it is a very real issue you know.

Even some poor kids. The sophomore catcher is the son of a janitor.

Yes I know there are some middle and poor kids who are repping at Harvard...which is good...but they're still sadly in the minority...a sizable minority, especially since Harvard is huge. But still a minority.
