Molten salt can store the solar energy.
Mmm, I didn't know that. Just how do you turn salt into the liquid kind?

Wow! I thought our HOA was strict! At least our HOA doesn't say anything about what we do inside our houses.Don't know how to expose.
The vice president of HOA complained at me about install new carpet in my room so they sneaky around subdivision and look at truck with new carpet. He told me that kind of carpet is unacceptable and all carpet should be selected that HOA approved for all houses.

That should be easy to fix. They complained about our backyard isn't mowed either but it doesn't have wooden fence to cover it.
Cars here are allowed to park on the street until 10 p.m. but the HOA doesn't have authority to tow them. They can call the police, and request that the car be moved. (It's a county regulation.)They complained about cars park on curb and threat to homeowners to call tow truck to take car away at homeowner's expense.
We have a two-pet limit, too, but I don't think it's enforced unless someone complains to the county. One of my neighbor told me that HOA threated her to take to court because of 6 dogs in her backyard so HOA wants less dogs like 1 or 2 in backyard.
Well, you should obey speed limits for safety reasons, especially in neighborhoods with children. Speed laws are enforced by police, not HOA's.They complain about everything and one of neighbor that who is heavily closer with HOA scold me over speed limit on subdivision road so I told her that speed limit isn't posted in subdivision road then she went call police to report on me.
2 months to left - DC!!!!

The carpet you described in another thread sounded fine to me. I wonder if the HOA gets kick backs from their recommendations.

right. I didn't say you are responsible for paying it but I said you are responsible for incurring the cost... meaning your relative is paying for your usage of electricity so what you can do is to save electricity?![]()
How hot? In retrospect, my question must have seemed silly.

Yes, I did like turn the light off when not used, sleep the computer when not used, hardly use ceiling light because I use medium light stand with CFL and set AC at 70/74.

The problem is, roof panels are so expensive. We also have to get our roof reshingled first. (That's what the solar guy recommended.) I also have to check into whether my lot is too shady. We have lots of very tall trees around our house. But until they come down in price, I don't think we could afford enough for whole house use. There you go. Get off the grid entirely.

All good suggestions but they don't help the skyrocketing price of gasoline come down.
So, the whole supply and demand precept of capitalism is negligble? If no one demands it, there is no need to supply it.

Our friends in Micronesia checked into solar panels. Because they live on an island, the cost of electricity is outrageous there. They use it for only a few hours per day. Since it's a sunny place, they thought solar might work. The problem (in addition to the unbelievable initial cost) is the coconut trees they have all over the island. They were told that falling coconuts would smash the solar panes. That was several years ago. Maybe they've improved since them.![]()
No. But demand is a small factor in our current gas price...
I think that should be increased with new sites. What about oil drilling?
That's how I feel. The initial set up is way too expensive....I'm not sure I would have that much time left.:P
