He just is damn cool!!! His intellect... his firm grasp of real world problems is just amazing.

David Letterman asked him if Obama thinks it's racism that he's being vilified, and Obama said, ""First of all, I think it's important to realize that I was actually black before the election..."

That draw cheers, laughter, and applause.

He continued to expound so eloquently why racism is not the reason... I don't know of any presidents being as eloquent or well educated as he is.

Obama's my favorite president!

Calvin Coolidge may not have been a gifted orator (having the nickname "Silent Cal" and all), but it was said that he could be silent in five languages. The only president to have a doctorate degree was Woodrow Wilson. Legend has it that James Garfield could write in ancient Greek with one hand and Latin with the other. Just a few interesting tidbits.

My personal favorite for prose was Lincoln. Not only did he have a gift for the English language, but his speeches actually had substance. JFK and Reagan also delivered some great lines that have stood the test of time.

I saw the show and I was impressed with Obama's intellect and demeanor. He's the real thing, and I am certain there will be a National Health Care bill passed before too long.
I don't know if it was the closed captioning, but it looked like he made a gaffe that went unnoticed. Hmmmm, or maybe he is just human after all. A very likeable fellow.

Both Clinton and Obama have a doctorate degrees--juris doctorate. Clinton was a Rhodes scholar and got his J.D. at Yale. Obama was editor in chief of the Harvard Law Review. I'm a law nerd so I like this. *need a nerd smilie here*

One of the most beloved American historical figures was gifted but did not go to college because he was the second son of a merchant family. That person was Benjamin Franklin. A very talented man and still one of my favorites!

Lol. "Cultistic following" seems to be a conservative thing. Witness Koko's insults about liberals considering Obama a messiah; a few liberals may have had leanings toward Obama as the savior but I doubt the majority of them think this way. I think superstar would be a better comparison in Obama's case.

My views of white supremacist (not KKK) are like people who use all their effort to make sure their dog are pure breed , except they want to make sure their grandchildren and great grandchildren are white so they centered themselves around white people. I know several people like that, and they are usually refer as racist people. But anyway, I wouldn't mind our native Indians telling people not to marry white people either. I am mostly native Indian and some black but I look more white (my dad look more native Indian)... Native Indians are dying out and I think there should be more of them. I agree with both of these quotes.

Sadly, the "ignored one's" agenda is just that; to disrespect the leader of my country. He claims he cares about America, but I think he would prefer that Obama fail rather than succeed. And only to say "I told you so" as the situation here worsens. I have hope that things get better. The strategy of the Rush-oholics is to make Obama's mission as difficult as possible. You want legacy for your kids? Keep posting angry and insulting comments about my leader.
As for the Jim Jones reference, perhaps YOU, the "ignored one" are the Pied Piper of the extremist Conservative cults. You have a gift with words. You have your little fan club. Cults prey on the vulnerable. My cousin is schizophrenic and a cult recruited her. It was very sad. Fortunately, our family go her out and got her the treatment she needed.

Lighthouse, I'm perplexed about the fact that you are of Native American descent and that you "hang out" with racists. I don't understand why you would want to hang out with someone who doesn't respect your ancestors. I understand that you may be "passing as white" to these people, but that has its psychological costs. Personally, I don't want to be around racist people because it's negative and toxic.

Each person makes her own choices about religion. The US has religious freedom. Pick a religion or be totally free from religion. It's inappropriate to comment negatively on another person's religious beliefs or lack there of.

Because some of them are family and some are from my neighbor (they even let my dad watch football with them). I have no choice. Beside, they have no intention to hurt me or belittled me. Never had either. They just believe people should stick with their own race.
