You know, I find this issue interesting.

We've had various races that are merged together over through the years whether they're black, hispanics, middle eastern, caucasians, so and on. A lot of people says, races doesn't matter but when it comes to 'labeling' one as a specific race. When that happens, the attention of this issue comes up and shifts to this when it takes a person in a higher position such as Obama (for example) to make turn out like it's asking for a political correct term when in fact he is half white and half black.

Also, Another thing is - When it comes to having a political correct term; It's like asking for one thing to be wrong and for another thing to be right. What gives?
 
my dad was born in canada but his whole family was born in norway and immigrated to canada just before he was born. even though he was born in canada, dad identifies himself as a norweigan because his family followed strong norweigan traditions. so he chose to identify himself to the culture he was raised in and not the country he was born in. my point is... obama can define himself whatever he wants. he can choose which label he is more comfortable with. who are we do define him, anyway?
 
I dont think many would care about this as I honestly dont even give a rat's ass either.

It is obvious to see that he is half black, yes but is it a big deal? not really. There are alot of famous half black people including Tiger Woods and Vin Diesel who are half black as well.

So Obama is our new president now, so lets just respect that and drop the racist stuff aside.
 
We're not talking in racist ways. We were talking about his race. That's big difference between race and racist.

Are you sure Michelle is Full African-Amercian? She could have some white ancestors, who knows? Remember Thomas Jefferson and his slave, Sally Hemmings?

Did Michelle claim that has some white ancestors? when last time she annonced " I am proud of america and country"? Why she attended the pure black church and her pastor preached hate and judge on white america for 20 years? Umm

:gpost: Yes I second that. Many people I know like your Dad. My oldest son´s friend is an American. His parents moved back to live in Germany at 5 years ago. His mother is a German and his father is an American. He born in America but want to consider himself as a German, not an American. Interesting...

If Obama want to consider himself as a black or an African then respect him instead of correct him.

I remember one application asked me, what kind of planet are you from? It is very important for US Census Bureau to figure out how many dumb Americans applied for that job? :aw:
