Do you have common sense?

Too many overweight men aren't good for our military, so it is threaten to national security.
Oh, fuck so how do we defend our country? :laugh2::laugh2::laugh2:

You should come to high school in Alabama - really plenty, plenty, plenty of obese students, even much worse than California.

Even, not every men are interested to join the military.
That's their business, not yours.

public smoking ban was good enough. not asking for sodas ban. just the sales of large sodas, free refills, and vending machines in schools.

I'm fine with high tax on cigarette in NJ-NY and it should apply to large sodas too.
Your screenname should be CrazyJiro.

We will have no way to defend our country - you will be very likely to be killed or injured by foreign military.

That's their business, not yours.

Not really, we could reinstate the conscription "military draft" - that means you are required to serve in the military or you will face a jail time.

The conscription in the US has been around during revolutionary war until 1973.

Its the governments way to control population quietly... let the people kill themselves.

Public smoking ban makes sense it affects everyone around you. Government regulation of what you can eat or drink will lead to more regulation. There is no difference between the government regulating some of our diet and all of it.

I agree there should be no vending machines in schools. A vending machine is just a point of sale. We wouldn't allow other venders to set up booths in the middle of school halls.

Also I'm getting really tired of the tax increase in things that politicians would like to outlaw but no they can't. Guns, ammo, cigarettes, alcohol, ect. Maybe they should tax the heck out of sports equipment. Kids get hurt all the time in sports. It would be much safer if we all got our exercise on tread mills

once a public smoking ban was instituted... the rest of the dominoes fall in quite nicely.

got proof for your correlation claim?

and yet.... it didn't work and people are still drinking and getting fatter.

NYC and NY have almost 20 million residents. one of the reason why NY/NYC are broke is because obesity is costing them money. billions of dollars. corporations have billions billions billions of dollars to advertise and to put their sodas in everywhere and the city/state government are bleeding billions billions billions of dollars to keep them alive.

Public Smoking Ban has been proven effective and cost-effective for the government. Health went up. Productivity level went up. That translates into profitable gain for everybody else.
If profitable gain actually puts the money into peoples pockets that is genuine encouragement. People stopping smoking did not put one thin dime back into my pocket and any increase in productivity was completely meaningless when our government put our country into direct competition with low wage countries that do not heed any kind of environmental restrictions.
While a case may be made that not smoking increased obesity rates, no one is looking at it. I know I sure as hell gained some weight when I stopped smoking.
The soda companies have a racket going and like all the other businesses that make big profits the effect their product has on the population is meaningless to them. This is THE problem. Business and profit do not give a rats ass about human beings, the country, or the future. Until we deal directly with that we pay the price for their sociopathy.

Actually we do by technology now. For example, whenever a missile comes in from another country, it will be automatically destroyed. We have drones to replace humans. We also have the best satellites for any target bombings. That's why I said before that North Korea can't defeat us. We are still better than them.

My point is so what if there are too many fat men/women in America.

Not really, you can't depend on military technologies without humans who are well bodies and not all missile technologies are successful.

Sure, NK won't defeat us but it cause a HUGE MESS with South Korea, China, Japan and our country.

There is also the matter of what they are doing with these very big drinks. I know of one guy that got in the habit of filling a very, very, large insulated mug and carried it around most of the day sipping on it from time to time.
Hmm what else was in that verry very large insulated mug? I have known maintenance drinkers to do that very thing using vodka usually...

I think we should just nuke North Korea and deny it. Blame terrorists or something. :wiggle:

best satellites? LLLLLOOOOOOLLLLLLL

yea.... "best satellites"..... did we find any WMD in Iraq? did we find Osama bin Laden? even our "best satellites" couldn't tell us anything more about what North Korea has.

our drones have already killed hundreds of thousands innocent people by mistake. and even for precision bombing... we need FAC (Forward Air Controller) on the ground.

do you know what was being made very clear? it clearly proved President Clinton wrong that technology > manpower. majority of countries do not have high tech infrastructures. just because we're technologically advanced doesn't mean we have an edge over less technologically advanced technology. It just means a high-tech spying (eavesdropping, computer hacking, etc) is basically useless and we need to put in good ole' fashioned James Bond to do some surveillance and intel gathering.

you still need soldiers. you do realize that majority of military manpower is logistic/support/mechanic? all these technology and drones need actual human beings such as maintenance, delivery, mechanics, etc. so what if we have too many people unfit to do the jobs?

and what if we have too many obese civilians? simple - they will be draining our tax money.

Overweight people can do those jobs. Honestly there are many of them at my workplace as well.

Very unlikely! He is a retired police officer that was in charge of much of the management at our church camp and conference center following his retirement. And yes it did include maintenance. He took that on for a couple years or so as an interim position during reorganization of the management structure more as a favor to the conference than anything. He had been a very active volunteer for many years (and still is) and part of the lay outdoor management committee

It is still cost so much to taxpayers and obesity epemdic has caused medical cost goes up, also some obese people have deal with obesity related illness, including diabetes, heart attack and stroke - cause absence at work and some of them are unable to work because of physical disability due to obesity.

Some have a knee problem because of overweight so they use a cane or wrap a knee support. However, very few of them do that (knee support) at my workplace but it doesn't stop them from working.

That why we are trying take a hard on food and beverage companies for many harmful additives, also we are take on fast food because they don't serve enough healthy food.

I'm victim of obesity due to excessive consumption at fast food and poor nutrient support that messed up my health. It took 2 years for me to broke the obesity level and returned to overweight. I don't eat fast food, except for healthy, causal food place like Panera Bread, university cafeteria and cafe that serve healthy food. I'm very strong critic of McDonaldization and wrote a critical paper about fast food.

The obesity rate in Alabama is over 30% today, compared to around 10% in 20 years ago, also obesity rate will be projected to over 40% for entire of US by 2030.
