Here Story about happen today!

I arrived at my girl’s school at afternoon. I notice their parents gather and discussed. Few of them wave that want me coming to them. I see that woman who wrote the note. She handed note to me and read it. I am very shocked!

I knew one of the lady who had two small kids. Last year, School has not allowed any peanuts. They told me that her kids are very severely allergic of peanuts and others.

They were so mad at her now because that woman just talked to school that all kid’s parents could buy non-allergic clothes detergent! Her kids are sick from detergent!

They cannot believe that woman have another pregnancy too! They said felt so bad for her kids suffer from it.

They are outraged! They will be going to PTA meeting soon!

As for me, if I see my kids have been very severely allergic, then I will not continue pregnancy!.. Sorry I am not buying non allergic clothes detergent!! :dunno2: am I selfish mom? :(

If they are that severely allergic to detergent, they should be under the care of a better doctor.

As far as I know it is nothing like a peanut allergy.

Seems like that mother just thinks she is too special and likes to push people around.

If it is that bad, she should consider home schooling.

I'm allergic to detergents and all you have to do is run the clothes through the rise cycle a 2nd time, or just do a 2nd wash with no soap to really get it out. My son is worse than me, but he never has an allergic reaction with us doing a 2nd wash. He usually breaks out all over, I however, run into breathing problems.

Oh wow, that waste alot of water to do 2nd rinse but better than get ill from allergy reaction.

It could happen to be in genetic that kids got allergy to the detergent. My friend's son is very sensitive to laundry detergent and baby wipes. So she just keep stick with baby laundry detergent, and it works. As for baby wipe, she use sensitive baby wipe. So far he is doing great and no break out much just only on his poor hiney from the diaper. That's normal. He'll outgrow it when he's older and learn potty training soon.

Look>> Lake Tahoe's post.. Maybe helpfull with baby detergent? so less 2nd time?

I think the reason the other parents were upset is because the mom wants THEM to use a different detergent. But if I understand correctly, ADers who posted their experiences and advice say that only the kids with allergies need to use the special detergents or extra rinse. Is that correct? Is the allergy mom expecting too much?

She is expecting too much.
I am allergic to soaps and detergents. If I am close enough to someone else that their detergent causes a very bad reaction in me, I am way too close.

How old are these kids? I know as a young one, we used to play and roll around. In the process we did come in contact with each other.

Just thinking from the allergy person point of view. BUT, is it that bad of a allergy? Almost sounds like bubble boy and his mom.( movie reference)

Update!

She explained to me clearly.

Last week ago, her kids were so sick and went to the hospital. Their mom learned that her kids were sick from school!

She required asked to school that, She wants her kids will be alone eating room and not join kids at a school cafeteria.

She will get air purifier machines in classrooms. Her kids must sit the desks away from other kids. :-/

Allergies are on the rise BECAUSE we are too CLEAN to begin with!

Farmers don't have allergies because they're constantly exposed to germs and their immune system is spent time fighting those germs. When you are too clean from birth, your immune system doesn't have any germs to fight so it starts attacking your own body (that's why we have more autoimmune diseases than ever) and also overreacts to foreign particles causing abnormal allergic reactions.

So, by keeping the place CLEAN all the time ACTUALLY makes more kids more allergic!

That's why I am so pissed off that many people sterilize everything and seeing ads promoting antibacterial wipes or soaps. STOP IT! You NEED germs to help keep your immune system in check! Most germs are HARMLESS and crucial for your body's normal functions!

I use method for my laundry and Tom's of Maine - Naturally, it works. for toothpaste and deodorant. I don't buy products that, like all commercial laundry detergent out there (Tide, Temperacheer, et al) have animal by-products in there. What do you need a dead animal in your laundry detergent or toothpaste? You need to go natural and the junk you buy on the store shelves that isn't natural, naturally are going to eventually make you sick.

My laundry smells and looks great, not to mention my teeth and, even I smell great! I've never felt better buying those products, which can be found at Target.

Poor kids. Sounds like this mother is going way overboard.
