Except me it seems. Not counting people over the age of 60, I can remember only 2 people around my age who had hearing aids. I know they're expensive and a pain to wear all day, but come on. Talk about feeling like the only one who wears these things. People see them and think I have some slick iPod headphones or something. Would love to hear from others such as my "hearing impaired" self about how things are going and have been going. I've had just about every hearing aid there is. Lost about half my hearing because I was a sick baby. It's past the point of feeling lonely. I'm at the point of amazement that I don't bump into anyone else with a piece of hardware in their ears.

to AllDeaf forum. I was born deaf. I wear one hearing aid ever since I was 8 1/2 years old and am also totally deaf on the other ear. I am 62 going to be 63 in two months in November. You are not the only one. I hope you enjoy reading and posting all the threads here. Have fun with us. See you around.
