Call for US style school buses

The government has been urged to introduce US style yellow buses to ease traffic on the school run.

The buses have seat belts, CCTV and pupils are allocated seats. Tom Symonds reports.

And your point is????? Your link doesnt offer any more information.

But this is from BBC in England. What would it have to do with Florida?

OMG ...definitely wrong school bus.

They should have purchased this school bus instead.

Most of current events is bombarded by Liebling's threads relating to USA so I thought it's time for a change.... news about EUROPE!!! :-o This UK bus thing is simple. London is infamous for traffic problem. They proposed introducing American-style school bus to reduce the congestion issue. :cool2:

Yep, US style school buses in UK....something they're getting from the US...how interesting. Notice the door is on the left side, not right side? Some of you could have observed the video. :P

I m surprised that Europe does not have yellow bus ??! How can kids go to school ?

They ride public transit...like train or bus...or parents take them to school..whichever works for them.

I wish I had an URL for ex-chancellor Schroeder's conflict of interest story. Maybe somebody can find it.

Ah I understand now. But whatever happened to the double decker buses that London was once famous for??

Thank you, Botti, the subject contained in the URL you posted is spot on....

With that, we would be in school within seconds after we got on the bus. ;)

*last person gets on the bus*

Driver: "Okay everyone, buckle up!"

*floors the pedal, presses nitro, & ignites rocket boosters*

VROOM!

... in the principal's office ...

Principal: "Whoa, that sounded like a sonic boom! I thought there wasn't a military air force base near here?"

I guess it's not suitable for transporting kids. or maybe they just didn't think of it LOL! If you remember - the tourist bus has wide walking area in between seats so that wouldn't be practical for commuting purpose. and plus - I think it's dangerous for students.

Existing mass transit infrastructure for London is optimal and, I dare say, much better than the mass transit system of most U.S. cities. Yellow buses to ease congestion?

The double-decker buses that London is known for still exist. In fact, I saw a replica during the "hand-over" portion of the Olympics' closing cermony.

Video not captioned. I haven't a CLUE why it was posted nor this issue being talked about.

lol Vamp - that reminds me of that Harry Potter scene

Hi I am from Uk, We do have buses (coaches actually) for Kids to go to school but they will only pick kids up from outside the catchment area, the local kids needs to walk or have lift in the car, but due to ever expanding country they think it will reduce the traffic by using yellow bus which is very up to date with safety belts, CO2 emissions, low fuel use etc. Yes we still have few red double deckers but those buses are not econmic (sp) and is unsuitable for many areas due to the height.
We also have our roads expanded to 4 lanes (in some areas) so we can use Car pooling like USA, there will be camera to take picture of the car if it carrying just a driver which they will be fined, this also applies to lorries/coaches for using the pool lane unnecessary. The car pooling here have to have at least 2 people in the car during peak hours.
We are trying to improve our country................. umm...
