No Gas at 711 Store...

Hawaii has a few at the 7 eleven stores. These have no gas stations.

your right, it is Nixon's administration that started the 55 mph. I remembered that clearly.

I remembered it was Nixon who set the speed limit not Jimmy Carter.

Why would Bush want to drill oil in Alaska while China is trying to take over our oil companies esp when they want to buy Chevron.

I really doubt it! I can bet on it easily. Two summers from now, MAYBE yes. But that is NOT good reason to start the panic!

just wait until next year....by the time next summer next year it will reach up to 3 dollars a gallons!

Just re-read your message, and I doubt they have ran out of gas. It is more like, they can't pump out of gas! No electricity means pump is dead.
It happened up here, if you recall the great northeastern black-out? ALmost all gas station couldn't pump gas, even there is plenty of gas in tank, only handful of them got generator to back it up.

In the summer of 2003, here in Memphis, we had a freak storm that took out about 90 percent of our power. We're talking about 100 mph winds. Street lights and everything were out. Just about every gas station in town ran out of gas. It was a night mare!

Right. Same thing happened after hurricane Hugo hit Charleston in '89. We couldn't get gas at any of the stations because the pumps require electric power.
