this has to be like one of the most unintentionally funny threads ever
I hope you enjoyed the races.
I've only been to one drag race, in Gainesville, FL. I think it was the Gator Nationals. It was cool to watch but VERY LOUD!
Me believe you? Nope!

i live a few miles from the Pocono Raceway, it's true. my family and friends used to be able to hear the race. now the trees in the area are taller so it deadens the sound. they can't hear it much at all these days...I was told that at Nascar race in Indianapolis was so loud that it can be heard several miles away.
I see there's some bashing about bad mileage and such.
Yes Jeep's gas mileage may be terrible compared to Toyota Prius or Chevrolet Cobalt but it depends on where you live. I go by this golden rule - "use the right tool for the right job." DHB lives in upstate NY which is frequently plagued with bad weather all-year around - several feet snow, flood-like rain, etc. etc. So it makes sense for DHB to have jeep while it also makes sense to have Toyota Prius for Florida/California/Arizona. But it does not make sense to have Hummer H1 in NJ just for commuting. Again - use the right tool for the right job.
Useless Gas-Sipping Car is worse than Useful Gas-Guzzling SUV - and a waste of money.

Drag race cars aren't used for commuting, for crying out loud. You mention this on other thread
That top fuel vehicles is the world gas HOG! They can't even meet at least 1 MPG, not even close to it and your supporting it?
I know these gas suckers gulps at least 10 gallons just for a quarter of ***A*** mile!
You said this is cool... I really don't understand you!![]()

)Here you go:I'm jealous of you, Highlander, and Reba. I've gotta go to racetrack one day just to experience it once in my life!![]()

Pocono is just 30 miles over the NJ border. make plans for next year soon. the houses and rooms are rented out fast and traffic to the raceway is like a parking lot the day of the raceI'm jealous of you, Highlander, and Reba. I already posted about compared Wrangler and Grand.
I like to pick Grand over Wrangler for fuel/power.

Drag race cars aren't used for commuting, for crying out loud.
They get driven maybe a total of one mile per week, depending on eliminations. Some don't even race 1/4 mile but 1,000 feet. (NHRA Story » Top Fuel, Funny Car to remain at 1,000 feet to begin 2009)
Also, they don't use gasoline, they use nitromethane, so they aren't competing for resources with our street vehicles. (Or do you use nitro in your bike?)
Only 35 minutes away from our home.
Come to visit me and we will go there.

Im not sure this 3.8L V6 engine in a Wrangler is base on Chrylser Voyager or Dodge Grand Caravan cuz I recogized the shape of a 3.8L V6 engine in a newer Grand Caravan. Poor MPG on a newer Wrangler? Base on the vehicle weight and size of the engine/driventrain. The 3.8L engine in a Wrangle is bad idea.Long answer.
Race car are illegal on the street and they do once or twice a week. That's mean they spend probably $30-$50 a week.
Good efficient and poor efficient are same trip mile.
Good efficient car like 30 mpg and spend $40 a week for full tank.
Poor efficient car like 15 mpg and spend $80 a week for full tank.
Street cars still spend more oil than drag race in USA.
Jeep Wrangler 4x4 2009 is 202HP at 3.8L V6 and made 19 MPG
Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4 2009 is 380hp at 5.7L V8 and made 20 MPG
Grand Cherokee is little better MPG than Wrangler but Grand is much fast and more torque than Wrangler plus Grand Cherokee is bigger than Jeep Wrangler.
Jeep Wrangler is most poor fuel efficient.

I forget about that. Thank you for make me to remember.
My father own 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan AWD and it's 3.8L V6 at
215HP and made 23 mpg. It pretty bigger and 4 MPG more than Wrangle.
How embarrassing to poor design for Wrangle.
Is cause transfer case eat lot a fuel?
