Hey all I am new to this site. So I thought I would say Hi.. and I guess try to get in on the convo's going on. I am 28 and a single mom of 3. I am loosing my hearing, and have been since 15. I am very hard of hearing but not totally deaf yet. I am headed that direction though. I am trying to make myself a part of the deaf community. So here I am..

Welcome to Alldeaf and enjoy your stay here :)....I have alot of respect for single mothers cause they always bust the buns off raising their children on their own, my hats go off to them....
 
Hello and welcome to Alldeaf! I can understand what you mean by trying to be a 'part' of this culture/world...yet, you already 'are' a part of this--being involved more and participating is the 'key' for a sense of 'belonging'. Anyhow, hope you'll enjoy your stay here in AD! :)

same here . I am very hard of hearing like you and wear hearing aids.. I feel the same way.

Hey All, thanks for the warm welcome. This is my first step at trying to find people that I can really relate to. Being in a room with all hearing people, you tend to find yourself feeling left out. I do wear 1 hearing aide. My left ear is pretty much completely gone so hearing aide will not help there. My right ear does ok with the aide.

My boys are almost 8 (feb) almost 4 (dec 26) and just turned 2. Yes I have all boys. LOL they keep me busy.
