Hello all,
Moved to Roatan to teach the island children for 1 yr. I'm still here 4 yrs. later and Love teaching just about any topic.
"In teaching another person, you will grow as much or more in the process.
"One is only honored as a true teacher when there mastery of any subject is demonstrated by teaching another being to master the same subject."
Loving someone will always involve teaching them anything that is Healthy to there body, mind, or spirit.
The question that many a growing person asks themselves in this,
"Is giving better than recieving".
"So many greedy people make you think wisely about freely giving of ones all."
"My answer, yes and no." Balance of energy is the key.
"Loving without thought of personal profit is an elemental key to true Love."

I've made friends with a deaf island kid that has no one that I know of to communicate freely with. The culture in central Amer. , in general, is not conducive to learning sign and expressing yourself freely.
This is a great opportunity for me to teach and learn much in the process.

Books in PDF or msWord format would be great.
****
Specficially, illustrated hand signs and pc learning software would be very helpful.
I'm thinking that there must be a foundation or other non-profit org. that would supply an entire signing curriculum to a specific and relevant cause.
This community is one of the primier scuba diving sites in the world. The PADI dive instructors and dive masters are very interested in learning and teaching sign, for a couple of reasons, freely.
I believe that this would open great possiblities for this guy, the local community, and the deaf community as a whole. I think scuba diving is a great deaf sport. Deaf dive clubs would have a great time diving in Roatan, Honduras - West End.
I forsee many B) COOL happenings , island style, for the deaf and hearing alike here in Roatan.
Please reply soon as my zeal is hot and starting ASAP would be wonderful!!!! ;)

Enthusiastically,
Joshua

Ah, I understand. There are many resources for ASL, including on-line, CD's, video tapes, and books.

Harris Publications has many resources for purchase. http://www.harriscomm.com/
