Nearly 100 Reportedly Killed in Russian Nightclub Explosion

What a shame. Seems like the club was also over crowed with no extra fire exits.
 
Damn....the most recent report I saw that so far death toll is 102.
 
Terrible! It reminds me of what happened in our country a few years ago. Will they ever learn?

I just saw a video of the bodies outside and it really got to me.
When I was 15 a nightclub a few hundred yards from our home
caught fire. 48 people died that night. I can still see the firemen dragging
out bodies and lining them up on the road. All the dead were locals.
I can never forget that night.

Yeah, but I think now night clubs have to adhere to stricter interpretation of fire codes than any other type of establishment, simply because it's often people crowded into a small area with poor lighting and many patrons may be under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.

I wouldn't doubt it if pyrotechnics are banned completely from night clubs here in the US given the one fire in the N.E. that killed clubbers when the pyrotechnics caught the building on fire.
