N.C.: Program Pays $1/Day to Girls For Not Getting Pregnant

it would probably be cheaper to just put them on the pill

Not a 100% guarantee. Taking the pill is not without risk. Secondly, taking the pill goes with the 2nd line of defense and that is when the decision between the male and female decide on the risk of having sex, and share that responsibility equally. The pill is not the first line of defense, it's the saying "No" to sex that guarantees no risk to pregnancy. That is without a doubt the first line of defense for a woman. Everything else is a shared responsibility and risk, except the teen woman has much more to lose when she's college bound.

Again, ya'll are totally hung up over the misnomer $1/day thing. Again, think of this as a scholarship opportunity because requirements do come with it.

I recall reading a long time ago that during war times the females were inserted with razor blades in their vaginas to prevent rapes and pregnancy.

How this was done, I dunno know!

As for paying girls $1/day....jeez! Why not just make them wear a chastity belt with a lock and key? Or carry a Smith & Wesson around?

It's ridiculous!

I have all boys....and my oldest did admit to having sex with his g/f...without protection to our family doctor. He and the girl have broken up now, but I did have a long talk with the girl's parents. The girl is now on birth control.

Teenage "puppy love" and "going steady" is common....so should condoms belong in a teenagers wallet (for males), and good, open communication between a girl and her parent(s)/guardian(s)....if a teenager says "I want to have sex, then the best bet is to get them some form of birth control. They are gonna find a way...no matter if you watch them 24/7!
