Mystery missile fired off CA coast

Wow. Definitely not an easy video to decipher quality inferences from.

1. Camera seems to be not a fixed point (good luck trying to calculate where the object landed) floating, or helicopter rising.
2. Don't see anything else but the contrails.
3. Looks like it could be deduced that it was launched from ground and it looks like civilian suburbs below. Wonder where the helicopter was exactly.

steampunk-version fighter jet, maybe?

I think that it might have come from a U.S. submarine or a surface ship. Pentagon should be working to solve mystery missile launch.

Assuming that video is legit speed.....That is not a jet. We will probably never know....just like TWA.

It still looking more like an airplane leaving its contrail behind. Optical illusion looking like it's shooting straight up. Heck, even a rainbow isn't a bow but a circle if you move high enough above ground to see.

er the contrail left by missile/rocket and plane is..... pretty obvious. It would leave 2 or 4 contrails. This one was one monstrous contrail.

Oh, btw, from my earlier link there is an update to it as well.
Update] Here’s a better video. You can see after about 0:50 it’s out of the contrail-persisting region of air, and is just leaving a short contrail. It’s also now out of the sun. It looks exactly like the short contrails of a jet coming towards the camera with perspective foreshortening

Mysterious missile launched off California coast?

The most likely flight is US Aiways flight 808 from Hawaii to Phoenix.

FlightAware > US Airways #808

Go to that previous link I provided and it'll show the plane's flight path in the same area, direction and time when this "missile" appeared.
