About a week ago I saw an article about some kind of animal spotted in Baltimore County, Md. and did not know what to make of it.
It looked to me like a dog/hyena hybrid, but of course that was just my guess.
I saw an update today, though, and the saga continues.
Weird!

Thanks. And you are cool too :D

Strange looking animal..it does look like part hyena and dog, something like that. :dunno: That's not too far from where my sister lives..hmm...

Or.. it's fox with mange problems.. or skin dieases. Since, its out in wild and untreated.. it happened..

A fox? They discarded that theory because look at another picture of it, it does not even come close to looking like a fox...

 another strange animal episode qq gosh -- it seems to be travelling into another county as it seems to have been spotted in Harford County -- it might be heading southbound -- wonder if it would be spotted in Montgomery County where my family members live -- i once saw a wild fox several years ago in the backyard of my mom's house when i was outside and ofc i FROZE that pix posted in this thread is nothing like a fox i agree with someone who had posted that comment -- it looks possibly to be a hybrid animal of sorts -- if its got a smaller body it possibly could be a distant relative of the fox clan qq due to its body size being smaller like a fox but a bit too large to be an ordinary domesticated cat :dunno:

This was found in Texas. Could be the same kind.

Liza, you're wicked. LOL :)

Anyway, I'm originally from Maryland, and I never knew of foxes, hyenas, wolves or anything of the sort being indigenous to Maryland. I could be wrong, though. They COULD be found up in Western Maryland, maybe?

I'm from the Southern part of Maryland, so I wouldn't know. :dunno:

I saw our local news .. talked about it but i didnt catch what they said.. but that animal finally captured.. so i am looking for news with updated..
but up closed that it captured in trap box.. it looks like it has mange problems.. :/

Yay!!! I was right.. :) I found the news.. here... Its red fox...."They determined it was a fox with sarcoptic mange."

The vet said.. "It is a skin parasite that looks -- under the microscope -- like spiders," said Dr. Herko. "One of the signs of the disease is hair loss and you've seen he's lost a good portion of its hair -- a good 70 percent."

 me me right.. :P.. jk.. but i am aware of alot of illness/neglect/malufactions animals since i used to work with...

well.. :) here mission completed.. lol

Awwwwwww, I feel bad having to rain on your parade, but that is not what the article says.
Oh yeah, it starts off saying that the creature was finally identified, and then something fishy happens: it does on to say "However, Dr. Michael Herko--a vet at the animal hospital--and the man who caught the fox say IT IS NOT THE MYSTERIOUS CREATURE VIDEOTAPED in July, but a relative."
HUH??? What is going on here?
And also "This one is definately the baby to the mother because the one I filmed was obviously bigger than this thing," Wroe said.

Lol, I have no idea what t make of all this fuss. But it is not the end of the story, from the sounds of it.
Please keep us posted.

Yikes...looks like it was a mutant kind of animal..i mean like it had mutant cells that makes it look hideous..reckon?..
