I do have pet insurance for my dogs. If anything happen to my dogs, like surgeries, labs, or tests, I am not paying for all, but I am glad I have pet insurance, and I only pay 50 dollars co-pay dedecutible, and pet insurance will pay 80%, jus tlike health insurance you have from job.

My oldest dog Copper have artitrisis in both back legs, and he is on medications. He is 8 years old.

It does look like a Good thing to get pet insurance to
keep your dog live longer as much as possible...
I wonder what is the name of insurance company ?

Was this from the same www.petinsurance.com ??

Alex,

I am wondering did your breeder give you a health guarantee before you bought your puppy? Did the breeder tell you anything about the possible health problem being pop up later? Have you contacted your breeder yet about the luxating patella and see what he/she can do to help you? If you haven't, you should phone the breeder soon. Depend on the age of your puppy, you should check your state, the puppy lemon law.

Many small/toy breeds are known to be prone to palate problems.

All I know that if your breeder is a responisble/ethical breeder. It offers you a health guarantee and lifetime support. Also, reputable breeders will give you more than one option how to help you and your dog. Depend on the case, they will replace the dog or give the full refund money back to you to help with the surgery, but they must be neutered/spayed.

I am very sorry about your maltese and surgery can be very expensive!

Something to educate you about. I hope that you will learn something new. It can prevent your heartbroken on your next puppy.

Yes, I got the info from petinsurance.com and we got the info from mail too, and it was both same, and we set up one for Copper and our new puppy, JoJo, now both of them are insurance and it will pay for any vet visit or surgery etc...

Awww I am sorry Alex,

After our puppy got attacked by pitbull couple months ago.. we keep update the following with Vet...
Vet noticed something with his pelvis which doesnt related the attack... he said Rocky have old injury fractured pelvis from possible the abuse..

I started to notice that he have "cramps" in his behind legs once in while if he play hard.. he fell over and (looks like sheep fainted when you scared sheep), or like.. he put his behind both legs straight up.. he yelped or cried.. I had to help him to get up and massage his legs.. Seems that winter isnt really good for him with the colds.. so far.. hes doing ok.. Vet is keep eye on him..

But I am sorry Alex that your cute dog.... have those.. :/

But, you can ask shelters or associates to support your dog's surgery funds?
or ask Vet how ... can pay or getting funds etc..

Oh dear, I didn't notice your thread until today...

I hope everything for your dog goes smooth...

Any update?
