Ello, everyone. ^_^

I'm kinda new to this site, so sorry if I did something wrong! ><
HOVRS company's having this thing where if you connect fifteen people, then you could get a MVP, or mobile videophone.
I thought we all could sign up (if you don't have an account there already), and give each other names and emails, and accept the purple button thingy in an email sent from HOVRS when we add someone in our phonebook on the site.
That way, everyone could get a MVP in no time. :D

I would put this in Advertising, but I'm not advertising, haha.
thanks! :)

Oh yeah, I almost forgot the link;
purpleticket.hovrs.com

Aw, why not ?

Because according to the representative, that i have to have
VP (Sorenson Video Relay) and high speed internet..that
i dont have because i live out in the country where there are
no DSL lines so therefore i was unable to get high speed internet
and so thats why i dont have VP. Thats what you get for living way
in the boondocks, lol.

I recommend to get cable internet thru cable tv company, they have a fiber optic high speed internet, it's fast connection, that mines whooping 30 MBPS (see my speed siggy). I have MVP directly to TV, I can use SVP for out calls, the SVP user can call me directly to my MVP (on your SVP list that you can dail same nbr, it's automatically goes to MVP). Because most of my invited buddies on MVP doesn't have a phone nbr, I use the SVP for out calls only.

Keep SVP top of TV or on rack above of LCD TV,
MVP directly to my digital cable DVR box's front RCA jack. Idea for "Evince" recording on my digital cable DVR for police with city interpreter service (Minneapolis police own interpreter service at the City Hall) anything goes wrong in violations (Harrassment and etc).

LOL Okay, I will enlighten you. :giggle: Here's the link you might want to check.

High Speed Internet - Local Phone & Wireless Phone Services | Embarq

I use Embarq for high speed internet. My home area is kinda of country. I tried to use other companies such as Comcast with no luck because we don't have Comcast around here, except Embarq.

Maybe, you can find out to see if, there's Embarq in your area. :fingersx:

said there is no embarq companies in Western NY so no such
luck..darn! so thank you, Maria for your help. The only thing i can
do is just M O V E if i want to get VP and high speed internet, geez.

Do you have Sprint or ATT 3G (high speed) coverage in your area? If so you can use it for your VP.

Fiber Optic is not anywhere in USA yet. Cable internet (Comcast,Timer Warner,etc..) never own a fiber optic. Where you get the info from?

Comcast can go up to 50 mbps for download thru cable (not fiber optic).

Verizon now runs with FiOs which it runs on fiber optic. First they need to set up fiber optics on every house before they can run it on apartment building which it will be in a long run until time comes to install inside apartment buildings.

Yes they have fiber optic in wrapped thin cables rather than black coax lines (upgraded in several years ago) after the first digital system installed.

Right. VZ is not in my area yet.

No... Cable internet don't have fiber optic modem yet. Check your modem's rear. They still use coax modem.

Again. Where you get the info? Please show me the link that you found. I know someone who build the cable for internet and tv and they still use coaxial cable for Comcast.

Right, there is no Embarq in WNY, that I know for sure.

Have you tried Verizon, Or Frontier?

What I know so far is that in WNY, there is three ISP companies beside wireless and that is Time warner, Verizon, and Frontier.

Please, please avoid Clearwire, as there is no guarantee if you will get best video experience.

To be clear, almost no cable companies have FiOS (Actually they are starting to pop up nowadays), only that I know Verizon offers FiOS.

If you wanted to know which is best for VP? There is NO single answer to this question, it is because it is based on geographic location.

DSL cable is the shortest of all, they can go up to 1,000 feet away from switch or booster before they lose speed. They got limit of 15 hops from the T-1 line, so if the T-1 line is over 15,000 feet away with 15 booster, then the speed drops considerable.

Cable, approximately 5,500 feet away from booster or switch, of course it is better than DSL However I am not sure how may hops they are limited to, so I don't have the answer to this one.

FiOS, can go up to 5 miles without booster or switch! On older FiOS, they are limited to one node, meaning limit of one public IP address, so basically can't have more than 1 VP at same time, but now more and more are offering multi-node so it is good news right no.

So, suppose you had DSL switch only 250 feet away, then that DSL would be best choice, on other hand, if cable switch is say 1,000 feet away, and DSL switch is 1,000 feet away then the cable would be best choice.

So again, it all depends on geographic location.

It is the beginning, I have seen very limited area where cable company offers FiOS. I do not recall where, I can't remember everything but I DO know there is cable company that offers FiOS.
