Murder For Hire Arrest
Today's THV - KTHV Little Rock News Article

Police arrested a Madison County woman for allegedly trying to hire a hit man to kill her daughter-in-law.

Fifty-two-year-old Debbie Cain-Fitzhugh is being held in the Johnson County jail Tuesday night. She faces a felony charge of soliciting a murder.

Sheriff's deputies say Cain-Fitzhugh’s former daughter in law, the person she allegedly wanted dead, has custody of her grandchildren.

Deputies say Cain-Fitzhugh attempted to hire an undercover police officer with a recording device for the killing.

Officers from the Clarksville Police Department, the Fifth Judicial Drug Task Force and the Arkansas State Police are involved in the investigation.

Madison County Sheriff Phillip Morgan says Cain-Fitzhugh is a counselor who works in Johnson County, although he said he's not sure of her specific field.

Cain-Fitzhugh is the mother of Kevin Fairl Cain, who was convicted of helping Lisa Ann Rivers, a Madison County resident, skip a trial date in 2006 and elude police.
