all i have is a jack,whats the center stand?Why can't you take the front wheel off by using the center stand?

you can use ratchet die down straps and hang it from the rafters... thats what I do, it works great!!
Pretty much what I do, except I use the rafters to stabilize the bike and leave a jack under it (with a piece of wood to lift the frame, not the exhaust). Here is an example:

Please tell me you are kidding....
Laying a motorcycle on its side is not a good idea unless it is a 2-stroke engine.
Oil will creep up into the cylinders, battery acid can leak out, gas will seep from your carbs into the cylinders, etc.
Most motorcycle shops charge about $60 extra to remove & remount your wheels.
