Let’s try to snuff this election’s new Big Theory before it becomes Conventional Wisdom, although it’s probably too late.

The subject matter is "moral values." The theory is this: Kerry lost because he was very unpopular with people who believe moral values are the most important issues. This group of values voters is growing and Democrats are doomed until they can win them over.

The evidence comes from one exit poll question: Which issue mattered most in deciding how you voted for president? Here are the results:

KERRY BUSH
Moral Values (22%) 18% 80%
Economy/Jobs (20%) 80% 18%
Terrorism (19%) 14% 86%
Iraq (15%) 73% 26%
Health Care (8%) 77% 23%
Taxes (5%) 43% 57%
Education (4%) 73% 26%

Analysts and commentators have been stunned that moral issues would trump the other biggies. From this single result, where moral values trounced economy/jobs by a whole two percentage points, both gloaters and mourners have extrapolated a fatal flaw in the Democratic Party and all it encompasses. An industry of values voter literature has mushroomed in just the few days since the election. It’s misguided.

just to add this: you'd be amazed that
even wealthy people with money would not
have any effect on politics, for example
there was a true story I just found out recently
that one of these billionaires who already
spent $27 million dollars trying to
destroy Bush with many efforts to
prevent him from getting re-elected...
but it did NOT even work at all !!!
Imagine $27 million dollars blew away....

Nowadays people seem to appreciate
moral value more than just money (economy)
etc etc....

God made people vote for Kerry.
But Satan won.

Prove me wrong.

A tip: Check the stats & percentage. That will tell lot about them. That's how I came to that conclusion, my dear. I couldn't find two articles from New York Times and Dallas (I believe they moved to archive section..) however they decided to poll many people in red & blue states and the result was interesting. Larger percent of people live in red states or area who voted for Bush said that they trust government to take care of them if they lose the jobs. And they came to the conclusion that education is not their top priority because they believe that reading the bible will do the 'trick'. Even worse, they feel that they do not need the healthcare because God or Bush will answer their prays to heal their health problems... While people live in blue states or area who voted for Kerry, they were saying that job creation, environment and education is more important than moral values. After all, we are trying to perserve the environment for our generations. You have to remember that industries & corporates does not care, they want to dump their chemicals on our lands without having to deal with EPA, laws and paperworks. That's why industries & corporates LOVE Bush so much since he does NOT care about environment (example: Kyoto) so with him as 'president', they know they will generate millions and millions of dollars while dumping the chemicals which will endanger our lifes soon or later. Why did larger percent of EPA & health dept quitted when Bush becomes a president? I am more than glad to give you a link for you to read and understand the horrible situation.

Speaking of conclusion. In our local newspaper, this morning one boy wrote a amazing editorial letter put a huge impact on me:

Dear Editor,

I do not understand why republicans and christians were spreading the words that Kerry and liberals are evil because they support abortion and gay marriage. What I learned from the bible with my mother's help about Jesus is that he, Jesus, told his followers that we are not allowed to impose our beliefs on anyone. Nor discriminate against anyone. Jesus was a liberal and the Roman empire decided to eradicate him because he was stirring up a few cities and inciting revolt in the area with his ideals of social equality, and love and brotherhood. Gays or not, we are equal in our God's eyes. So why are christians and republicans trying to impose their beliefs on gays and ban gay marriage and abortion? A hypocritical judgment is judging something for something of which you are also guilty of - Like telling me to not judge when you are judging me.

With a bible in my lap, I am looking at Matthew chapter 7:1-2, "Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you get."

When I tried to show the chapters and verses to different christians or republicans at church about Jesus and his Words and they were rudely shouting at me and also was implied that I don't know anything.

The bible also state that no man has any right to define what is right and wrong - ONLY God! And those who take God's name in vain and those who curse their neighbors will be cursed by God!

For example, Bush claimed, "God wants me to run for President." According to LA Times and NBC, Gen Boykin claimed that the majority of americans did not vote for him. He's in the White House because God put him there for a time such as this!

Editor, I finally came to that conclusion that they, republicans and christians are blind due to their incomprehensions and perhaps raging hatred. Their blindly incomprehension will hasten destruction on themselves. Jesus went through the horrible situation in Rome, his own people crucified him.

Does it mean that we liberals are next by these incomprehensible people to crucify for following Jesus and his liberalism? The answer is undeniably YES. That's why my mom decide to buy one or two guns for us to protect ourselves from these insanity people who blinded by their hatred. Shocking, is it?

Regards,
15 years old boy and Clippers fan

(Editor: Clippers fan, whenever you reach the ideal age and become a politican, let me know and I would love to vote for you! Meanwhile, yes I agree with you, their blind incomprehension definitely will hasten destruction upon them.)

Beowulf, know what? you are absolutely right. I decided to browse many topics around here and it was horrible beyond belief. Wait, you just deleted your post. Yes I read your post when I am replying to Reba but oh well.

Y, yeah, few did. That was Soros, he is trying to save America's economy but seem that whoever voted for Bush does not care about economy. I guess they believe that moral values will feed their empty stomachs...somehow. Again, that's my guess based on different stats and polls.
