migraine with ear ringing HELP

Thanks Candybrowneyes and Hearagain, probably nothing wrong with me but I guess I better get a second opinion just to be safe than sorry.

Angelus should do the same too, check with a doctor ;-)

how does one differentiate between migraines and meniere's? i also experience nausea, vomiting, ear pain and ringing during my migraines, but no one has ever mentioned anything to me about the possibility of me having meniere's

Well the problem is, they really dont know a lot about Meneires. Even the first ENT i saw didn't think that is what it was and right when I told my audi my issues and how sick it was making me he referred me to an ENT he trusted. We started all the tests and tried out some meds that were related to Meneires and low and behold they worked. With a few other tests and such they came to a conclusion it was Meneires. If you think you may have a lot of the symptoms I would ask someone about it. I don't fall into the usual group that has Meneires and thats why my doctor was like "no thats not what it is" I have been doing alright since my diagnosis and with the meds I am on I have only had one real serious attack since September.

Oh and also, just in case it is Meneires, lower your intake of Salt, try to not drink a lot of you drink a lot or atleast decrease your consumption of alcohol, and smoking is real bad for it...

:ty: candy. i have an appointment for a ct scan (because of dizziness related to my ci's), so when i have the opportunity to talk to my ci surgeon about the results, i'll definitely ask him about the possibility of my having meniere's.

*thank you to everyone who took the time to view and post to my distress cry. Would love to see a doctor; really would. Need to come up with a few hundred first to cover costs of doing so; because atm hubby and I are without insurance. When I posted today I had three tiny kids I was caring for; no dark room to disappear into that they would not follow me into...and I was really scared at the time. I was up last night til midnight finishing "the books" for my annual trip to the tax man's office tonight. THAT ALONE would bring on a migraine! I don't think I have Menieres because there are som symptomatic things missing. No nausea, no lingering dizziness...actually very little dizziness. What I have going on is nocturnal clenching of my teeth (which will cause a migraine and ringing in the ears btw) and a hell of alot of stress. I am not a frequent migraine sufferer. I wanted to take a strong pain reliever today but could not until the kids and taxes were over with. I came home from the tax guy's office and took 250 mg of vicodin and although I still feel the headache; I dont freaking care ;). I will keep an eye on this and hub and I are working on getting health and dental insurance for us both. This year has really sucked economically; and we just couldnt afford the insurance. Thanks again for all the kind words and ideas. It REALLY helped.

Angelus
