I'll soon be aged-in and force to have Medicare. My question is: does Medicare cover hearing examinations and/or other issues strictly applying to the deaf?

Nope, unless you go for Part C, in which case your total monthly payment will at least DOUBLE in some cases if you choose to go with most of the private companies as compared to Part B, and if you're already on SSDI, and you decide to go on Part B with Part D, you'll be hit with a steep penalty for not having signed up for this when they first threatened our asses with future penalties for not signing up when Part D first came out, AND there is no dental, vision, and hearing If you choose to go with Part B and D. You can, under Part C, choose to go with with a private company that fits your needs (whether it be health and prescriptions, plus hearing, vision, and/or dental). Be prepared to pay for it, though.

Insurance is a big F* racket.

Nobody forces you to have Medicare. You can carry your own insurance.

Ask your local ssa for giving you the medicare booket but if you want to ask more question. Ask your health dept who handles medicare, not SSA.

Are you working? And you said you will be aged in so it means age 65. If youre working and have insurnace then you can get part A for free. However Part B can put on hold if youre working and have already had insurance. Im not familiar with part C. The best thing is to contact with the health dept to handle with medicare. Good luck.

If you were on ssdi after 24 months of getting a medicare and have no insurnace then encourage you to take a medicare when you dont have an insurance.

This week marks the first anniversary of ObamaCare, and if you are wondering where that coercive law is headed, we'd point to a case in federal court. That's where Judge Rosemary Collyer has ruled that Americans have a legal obligation to accept subpar government health benefits.

It remains a remarkable fact that America obliges most citizens over the age of 65 to take that rickety government health plan known as Medicare. Judging by today's growing number of health-savings options (HSAs, medical FSAs), some Americans would prefer to maintain private coverage upon retirement, rather than be compelled into second-rate Medicare. Yet ...

.... not getting a complete picture in here. I don't have an access to WSJ. If you do, please kindly repost a full article in here. :ty:

According to SSA, everyone whom ages to 65 is automatically enrolled in Medicare regardless if the person wants to or not. That, in my mind, is being "forced" by the government to take something I don't want.

Part A is free. But part b is that you have to pay by deducting ssa check. If you ignore part b and you dont have an insurance then in a few years. You change your mind and come back to medicare then the punishment of percent on mediare become crazyly high. So i agree they should go ahead to have medicare b no matter what if they dont have insurance. If they have ssa then it d be worth to have medicare part b.

but you've already paid for it thru your taxes. maybe you're confused with plans they're offering.

will there be penalties for not opting into it?

Where's the hearing, vision, and dental plan? It's my understanding that it doesn't include any of it, especially dental unless you get Part C.

Maybe in about 19 years, SSA will already have disappeared along with the Federal government.

You will be penalized for not opting into Part D when it was first available several years ago.

You can opt out by fill out on back of Medicare form after you receive it.

If you want to enroll so late so you have to pay penalty fee, it has been for many years since Medicare created in 60's.

If his income is low so he can apply for Medicare Saving Program so he doesn't have to pay premium fees.

However, he told us that he's retired USPS employee.

In bold, I doubt that but probably reformed and SSA is necessary for people with non-working disability and elderly.

Only if you consider losing your SS a penalty
