ever since "Blade", one of Marvel's first 20th century films, and "Blade" was quite an success so other movie companies are planning on other projects that are based on Marvel's superheroes. In summer 2000, 20th century released "X-Men" one of the most popular comic books ever in comics history and it was wildly an success, so Marvel is getting very popular in doing production with movies
On May 3rd, 2002, Marvel and Sony Pictures released Spider-Man, one of Marvel's top favorite superheroes ever, and definetly turned out to be an success, and was number one in the box office and was over the top while Star Wars : Attack Of The Wars was in 2nd of summer's box office hits. On Feburary 14th, 2003, Marvel and 20th century Fox released "DareDevil", which was pretty good but didn't sell too well in the box office as "Harry Potter and the chamber of secrets" did. On May 2nd 2003, Marvel and 20th Century Fox released "X2" a sequel to "X-men" and it was number one in the summer's box office hits.
On June 2003, Marvel and Universal Studios released "Hulk", which everyone was wild and crazy about this upcoming film, hoping that it would be one of the best comicbook-based movies ever made in years to come...but...nope many of you have your hopes too high on this one...lol so "Hulk" wasn't as good as I expected this to be...oh well.
On April 16th, 2004, Marvel and United Artists (or Liongatefilms?) has released "The Punisher" which was on top of the box office hits close to "Kill Bill : Volume 2". The action was cool and all, but the story wasn't as good as I expected it to be...oh well.
On June 30th, 2004 Marvel and Sony Pictures are back into action with our loveable and kind hearted hero, Spider-Man, into the big screen. "Spider-Man 2" has been sold more than $40,000 during the opening day...and it was the biggest opening day EVER! It even defeated the budget over "Matrix Reloaded" and "Matrix Revloutions" that were released by Warner Bros. last year lol
Now, Marvel continues to be in production of other movies with other movie companies...about next year we may see "Fanastic Four" and "DareDevil 2".
I've only heard that DareDevil 2 would be out sometime in 2005, but they didn't say it for real but it was just an suggestion that it should be out anyway. But about Fanastic Four, they said it would be released into theatres next summer of 2005. Plus, Jessic Alba from TV's "Dark Angel" will be in it
Jessica Alba Turns Invisible
Plus, who might be Dr. Doom?
July 14, 2004 - The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that former Dark Angel star Jessica Alba will portray Susan Storm, a.k.a. The Invisible Woman, in Fox's big-screen Fantastic Four.
Alba reportedly beat out a number of actresses, including Rachel McAdams and Elizabeth Banks. She recently filmed a supporting role in another comic book movie, Sin City. Alba's other credits include Out of the Blue and Honey.
Fantastic Four also stars Ioan Gruffudd (King Arthur) as Mr. Fantastic, Michael Chiklis (The Shield) as The Thing, and Chris Evans (Not Another Teen Movie) as The Human Torch.
In related news, Ain't It Cool News reports that Ray Liotta (Narc, GoodFellas) may have landed the part of the villainous Dr. Doom. While Liotta may seem completely inappropriate for the role of the armored European dictator, AICN claims the FF script is good.
The film begins production next month in Vancouver under the direction of Tim Story. Simon Kinberg penned the script for producer Ralph Winter, Marvel Studios, 1492 Pictures, and Constantin Films. It opens July 1, 2005
