Man gets 100 years in daughter's murder

A Clarendon Hills man accused of murdering and sexually assaulting his 8-year-old daughter in 2006 pleaded guilty but mentally ill today and was sentenced to 100 years in prison.

The reversal of Neil Lofquist's not guilty plea came in DuPage County Circuit Court.

Lofquist was accused of choking his daughter Lauren on March 26, 2006, and drowning her in a toilet. Previous courtroom testimony stated Lofquist gave a 14-hour confession in which he said that his daughter was the devil and that he had to kill her to save the world.

He also reportedly made statements about sexually assaulting his daughter.

In an apparent suicide attempt in June 2006, Lofquist injured his head and spine by jumping headfirst off a 6-foot high exercise machine.

Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.

he get in hell!!

Wow super fucked up.

The way he said about killing her because she was the devil and had to save the world was complete bullshit. He was just trying to get away out of it by pleading for mental insanity instead of the guilty term...at least the judge gave him the perfect punishment possible. 100 years in prison is plenty to serve him right for taking away the 8 yr old child 's life.
