Heres our long true story, the worst month of our lives....
At first, we sold our house in Live Oak three 3 years ago, June 2004 (which we bought from FMHA for low income people in 1993). The house was not worth the trouble as there was so many things wrong with it and the repairs were too expensive that we could not afford then of course the house started to be run down and we gave up on it after 11 years, it was hard to keep up on low income. It was nothing but a big money pit and home for termites ($178,000 dollars deep in the hole !!!) . We weren't prepared to pack our things until we got the check for $15,000.00 after the house was sold from the title company (real estate) and were forced to move out within 24 hours by new owners. We were scrambled to pack our belongs in the garage. We bought two used trucks to haul our belongs. We stayed with our deaf friends place in Sacramento for few days. One of my truck (1971 Ford F-100) broke down due to transmission failure (no reverse) along with our belongs in the bed of my truck in Yuba City. But our friends stole our things while our things were in their garage for temporary storage while we were sleeping which we found out later after we moved into the apt in chico. Our deaf friend's mom called the tow truck to tow my truck from Yuba City to transmission place in Sacramento. The transmission place told us to unload our belongs off my truck so they can rebuilt the transmission. Our friend's landlord told them to tell us move out. We were forced to rent the U-Haul truck to reload our belongs again (we had so much stuffs which we got when Tiffany's parents died that it was enough to fill two houses). We used the U-haul to storage our belongs for a few days while my truck was in the shop. So, they were not our friends anymore, because they did not help us to re load our belongs into the truck and were stealing from us without our knowledge. We stayed at the motel as we were homeless for the next two weeks. After my truck finished installing the rebuilt transmission and then we had to unload our belongs from U-haul truck and reloaded our belongs to my truck again. We had to throw our some stuff in the trash or donated at the thrifty shop due to not enough space in the truck and to not "over load" the trucks. So, while Tiffany's 1969 Chevy truck was needing for repairs such as new brakes, new master cylinder (three times), new rear axle bearings, 12 bolt rearend seals, new tires, new front springs and other things. We did donating our beat up 1980 Ford Fairmont station wagon to Church or others because we have two trucks and no one was going to help us to transport our third car to our future place in Eureka and so, we gave the pink slip (at the front desk of the motel), keys and the car at the motel for them to pick up while we gone. But that church members that we have not met drove the car on the freeway, but ran out of gas and left there On the freeway. And they did not registered the car in their name. So, the tow truck towed the car to the impound yard and sent a bill to us. The bill was $1,700.00 something and they were trying to collecting from us. Since, I already signed the pink slip to the church. But we refused to pay for the towing cost because it was not our car anymore. It was Church's responsible for that but never pick up the tab from the towing company. I told the DMV that I already signed the pink slip to church in around July 2004 but the date of the towing cost was Oct. 2004! Does not making any sense! Anyway, after our trucks were being under repairs. We were planning to move to Eureka as was our original plan, but we were driving on Hwy 5 north toward to Williams to get some gas before going on Hwy 20 toward to Hwy 101 to Eureka but one of her truck front left tire and the rim with brake drum still on came off while drove on the off ramp. The whole tire and rim with brake drum was rolling away to other side of the ramp and I had to chase it to get it back. Luckily that her truck did not roll over to create a big accident on the ramp. Tiffany and our 2 cats were siting on the grass in shade. And I was venting my anger with swearing (!@#$%^&* BLEEEEEP) about the brake store did not do the job correctly on the brakes job on her truck putting her life in danger. I walked to Taco Bell restaurant to tell the manager to call the police or highway patrol to come to our truck on hot day (summer). The highway patrol did come by and investigated the accident on the ramp and asked us if we have car insurance as we did not have one and the patrol did not issued a ticket for that. They did call the tow truck to tow her truck to the shop. We had to stay another week at the motel in Williams at the brake shop's expenses due their faults for damaged to our truck. They paid the brake parts, ball joint and some suspension work. After her truck has been repaired and then our money started getting low and we were forced to find a place in Chico and found an apartment with deposits or run out of money, and then moved in. We supposed be at Eureka in first place. The whole mess cost us $12,000 dollars and living on the street for 3 weeks !!!!!!! After we moved in then we were broke ever since until today. Oh well that's life!
