little help and a little about me ....

we saw an ENT and told him this....he didnt seem to have much to say about it....

Hmmm, a little surprised about that! Did you look up Meniere's disease, that is a symptom along with other things, including hearing loss?

That tells me you need to see an ear doctor, an ENT. It could be any number of causes some more serious than others. You could google intermittent hearing loss.

im looking it up now thanks so much!!....i do have tinnitus and when it "turns off" it sounds like im under water BUT, the ENT doc checked inside and said all was norm so NO fluid NO wax

Well, that mean there is nothing for you to worry about it. You just probably went over the mountain or high hill that cause you to lose your hearing for a very short time. Just have to gulp your throat to ease up your hearing so that your ears don't get block up. I had done it once going over the high hills between Minnesota and Wisconsin and I went deaf for a while but it was more like three days before I can get my hearing back again mostly on my left ear with hearing aid. That was many years ago when I was a kid.

Just have to gulp every time you go over the mountains or high hills. If your hearing is severe, then your ENT doctor should tell you what cause you to lose your hearing. Use the gum if you can do this way.

I do believe ENT dr's are limited in their expertise. I understand that you can't keep going to specialists, but the next one to see would be an otologist, who specialize in the ear and it's disorders. Just something to keep in mind if your condition gets worse and more bothersome.

Do you work outside the home? Vocational Rehab will supply you with hearing aids at no charge if you work and need your job.

Oh well, just keep learning that ASL and teaching it to everyone you know. Wish I knew sign, but I'm old and lazy and don't want to learn.

Hoichi is your champion in the ASL department.

I agree , I am not able to wear a HA in my right ear anymore and my audi said I should try to wear my HA so I will not lose more hearing in my right ear. I have already lost more hearing in it. And this effect my balance wearing only one HA. Everyone is difference and may lose more hearing faster than someone else. My sister and her husband lost some from old age. They both been hearing all their life.
Wolf mother , I like your username too , as you can see I love wolves too.

Thanks! yes i did guess that I love your pic!!! and wolves are amazing they have there own language too :)
